jcgomezMemberKiefer recently posted and seemed to suggest we should be taking 10-15 grams of EPA/DHA. See http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?topic=2714.msg26590#msg26590. Is this supposed to take the place of the at least 5 grams of EPA/DHA we should be supplementing with daily? E.g., CBL at 82-85.What time of day are we supposed supplementing? With food or without or does not matter? If we take it with food, does the amount of other fats in the meal make a difference? In other words, is the ratio of lets call it really good fat (EPA/DHA) to other okay fats (for example, the fat in a hamburger patty) important? Or do we just want to get 10-15 grams of EPA/DHA in our bodies any way we can?Thank you in advance.

nickl413MemberI'd say you should still get “at least” 5g but shoot for 10-15. I take mine 3 times a day with food. I don't worry about balancing it with protein. That's too much micro managing for me. Just eat the fish oil and be happy 🙂

Intensity JunkieMemberRemember it's not just about direct fish oil it's just Omega 3's in general, which you can get from meats, eggs, etcSo if you take in 5g from supplementing plus are eating foods that have Omega 3 you should be fine

Does he have you taking a particular brand? The 2 tbsp's total to how much fish oil in grams and how much EPA/DHA in grams?

nickl413MemberI also take 1 TBL at a time, ussually at lunch and dinner, sometimes a 3rd Tbl somewhere in the mix. 3 Tbls comes out to just over 10g.

jcgomezMemberI am taking Carlson MedOmega Fish Oil 2800, which has 1200 mg of DHA and 1200 mg of EPA. I bought it at Amazon and am on my second bottle. I have also been taking NOW pills when I am out.
