My wife and I have been doing CNS for about 8 weeks now.  Both went thru the 10 day orientation phase, and have been very strict with it.  I have been doing 2 carb nights a week, and she has only been doing one.  I have been losing bodyfat nicely. ( I can tell looking in the mirror.)  Her weight has not gone up any more like it was before we started, but is only down about two pounds total in the 8 weeks, and with measurements she has only lost a little on her arms.  We have been doing bulletproof coffee, protein from eggs, cottage cheese, sausage, pork, red meat in moderation, etc.  Being conscious to limit quantities of nuts, green vegetables, and other carb sources.  Been keeping carb nights pretty clean - no whole pizzas or half a cheesecake, etc. She was getting so frustrated that we even went back to the book, and did the higher calorie sample 10 day meal plan exactly as written.  She only dropped a pound before carb night. So I am looking for ideas.  Are we missing something?  Why am I losing bodyfat and she is stuck?  She is 5'9" and hovering around 240lb, so she is not a figure competitor trying to tighten up.  Any ideas would be appreciated.Robert

Also why red meat in moderation? That should be the premise of your meal intake.

you said you are keeping CN clean what is a typical CN like?

For example, her last carb night was two flour tortillas with eggs around 4pm, then chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, rice and refried beans around 6:30.  Then around 9pm a bowl of honey nut Cheerios.

Also why red meat in moderation? That should be the premise of your meal intake.

Too much red meat messes with her gut.  She has steak probably once a week, and I will cook some ground beef burgers usually once a week as well.  I will eat red meat more than that.

could be a number of reasons so it's hard to say for sure.. if weight loss was simply numbers it would be simple and everyone would have no problems losing weight but it's not that simple for good number of people.. hows her sleep? her stress? she may have intolerance to certain foods which is making it even harder to lose weight(wheat, sucrose and dairy are the most common). She may not be getting enough good fats in such as animal fats, whole eggs, avocado, and coconut oil. Don't limit fibrous vegetables like broccoli and spinach. Just some suggestions…

Addressing the ULC portion is one thing. Additionally I think that the carb sources on your CN need to be much for focused on spiking insulin levels. Flour tortillas can be used, but that, mixed with beans, eggs, etc isn't going to create the HUGE spike your looking for on CN. Then you follow it up with more tortillas and rice. Im assuming that rice wasn't plain/sticky rice. Probably more of a wild rice to go with the mexican food? Again not a choice-choice. Honey nut cheerios was probably the only meal that got a huge rise in insulin levels. This is purely speculation based off the look of the meals. But you might not be getting the hormonal response needed to make CN effective on your CN. Just my thoughts, try going for Higher GI foods, even if that means "dirtying" it up just a little bit. Cheerios to start, White Bread Subs and/or pizza for dinner, and Ice Cream before bed for example.
