Mimi1978KeymasterHey everyone3 years ago my gall bladder has been removed because of stones. Now my liver has to do the job for my missing gall bladder. Doctors told me to go on a low fat diet because of not to overstrain my liver.I`ve already been on CN for a month without loosing any fat. I thought to have a break for a week and restart again. It`s my 7th day on CN second trial and again I havent lost any fat. Weird that I gained more strength. Could it be that CN doesnt work for me as I might not be able to digest the fat?Anyone here in the same situation to share your experience??Thanks

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorWhile I don't have direct experience, I've dealt with friends without one.I highly suggest getting digestive enzymes, Betaine HCL or NOW foods super enzymes. The NOW foods have Ox bile extract as well as other enzymes so I think it's the best bang for the buck.You will still have to watch you fat intake, but it should help.

Mimi1978GuestThanks Trevor. I thought about Enzymes as well but wasnt sure if that would be just a waste of money. Was your friend succesful on CN with digestive enzymes?

Cory McCarthyMemberI have no gall bladder (removed @ 17)… and I lost ~26 lbs. during one 6-month cycle of CNS. In my second cycle, currently (just started, and already lost ~2 1/2 lbs. of fat).I find keeping fats a bit lower than protein REALLY helps, but sometimes cycling in higher-fat days (randomly, based on feel -- i.e., is my body craving more fat a particular day). I tried 50%:50%, and my progress slows. When I do something more like 40% fat to 60% protein, I burn fat like crazy. As mentioned above, by Trevor, I also take Digestive Enzymes, but I've been doing that for years (to help get the most out of heavy eating during the bulking phases of bodybuilding).Check my logs, if you like. Bear in mind, I am also a Vegetarian (so my meal plan is sans meat).Cory

He doesn't follow CN by the book, something in between CNS and CBL.Anyway, yeah that Enzymes have helped a lot.You might have to at least start out with higher dosages, it's something you will kinda play with.I think most people could benefit from at least smaller doses.

Should cut that out from my diet I guess. I work out 4-5 times a week, heavy weights and after HITT 2:1. So it cant be of less weight lifting.

I use Now Foods' Plant Enzymes product, but then again, I am a Vegetarian, and that product is Veggie-friendly.Watch the nuts, as they can cause inflammation, and stall progress anyhow. On CNS, you should lift no more than 3-4 days (preferably only 3), and limit cardio to 2 days of HIIT @ 30-minute sessions ea., directly after CN (for instance, if CN is Saturday, then Sunday and Monday HIIT sessions). Keep lifting sessions to 60-90 minutes, and keep total working sets to 24 or under. CNS is not a high-performance diet, and you could over-train, and ultimately stall progress.Cory

You might benefit from less exercise if you are only having a Re-feed once a week. What are your stats?It's best for most people to avoid nuts, it's way to easy to binge and they really aren't that healthy.Most of us stick with Red meat, butter, coconut oil, Eggs, Bacon, and some greens.

Mimi1978GuestActually I`m on my 8th day of prep phase to start with CBL tonight 🙂 Thanks so much for the advice with Betaine HCL and Enzyme. Both in combination helped me from the first day on and I`m not bloated at all anymore . My digestion works very well!! Lost already 4lbs which didnt happen before when I tried CNS. Big thank to Trevor and Cory!!

Depends on how your digestion is to start as to whether you get a benefit. I tried the NOW Superenzymes... not sure if it improved things for me or not. If you try them, make sure the meal has fat and protein in it, otherwise it can get uncomfortable. There is kind of a ramp up procedure that Robb Wolf talks about.
