pshannonMembervery true re: prop 🙂which hydro casein do you use mate? bulk nutrients?
Is this why its easier for Canadians to ride the bicycle? Its around the same price, if not lower, than some supplements.

Gl;itch.eMemberAt least you aussies have access to bulk hydrolysed proteins. I live in NZ where a lot of its made and I cant source any! Isolates, Casein, Whey easy peasy but Whey or Casein Hydrolysates forget about it! the only option Ive found is VPX NO Synthesize (which has a ton of shit I dont want/need in it and little pepto pro) or Biotests Anacond/Mag 10 at a premium!

dudsyMemberSo what are the benifits of vitargo, glycofuse etc over plain waxy maize starch?

I have been over the weeks so i may have missed it. Isn't WMS a high molecular, low osmalality carb which vitargo originally used?

Vitargo is derived from WMS but they are not the same thing. I have used WMS and I really wasn't a fan. I don't know why you would want to use it over dextrose or maltodextrin.

Richard SchmittModeratorThe hype of Vitargo probably. Are y'all in contest level body fat or close to getting on stage? If no, then stick to a normal protocol for CBL or CNS

I was referring to waxy maize. From what I hear, Vitargo is pretty legit. I am going to add in intra-workout carbs because I simply can not get all my carbs in during my backloads and I really don't want to consume more carbs in my off days or pre-workout, both times when tGLUT isn't translocated. As for the other guys, I don't know what their reasoning is, but I really like Peter doing this Mountain Dog style. I actually think it is better to consume the carbs intra-workout and one post-workout meal, rather than just consuming all your carbs post-workout because tGLUT is translocated the most 2 hours after training (this includes when you start). I think Kiefer doesn't recommend this method because it is less convenient, less enjoyable, and a lot of people can't stomach carbs during a workout.

Some would call it hype but when you are honed in on your body's responses enough to notice a positive difference with Vitargo or HBCDs then, in my opinion, that is worth it. Yes they are more expensive, but so is grass fed beef, quality fish oil, and all of the other stuff we focus on to NOT be normal.

Jas0nGuestVitargo is actually a very different animal to WMS although WMS can be used as an input (though not exclusively) for the production of the patented Vitargo process/end product. I also originally thought of Vitargo as a hyped up/overly-expensive WMS but after a closer look it seems that all the success that WMS attracted is solely via its association with Vitargo which has some decent science to back it up. WMS by itself is repeatedly shown to be no better than pure dextrose at restoring glycogen levels and often shows a significantly inferior insulin response (it's actually quite low glycemic) to dextrose/maltoidextrin. I never touched Vitargo myself and never recommended it to anyone until recently when I decided to try it as the only reasonable alternative to HBCDs (after having done some research) and although I can't compare it to HBCDs yet, I feel my workouts are MUCH more productive.Caino - honestly you can not beat bulk nutrients when it comes to price/quality. It's the closest thing we got to the states' true nutrition down under (I really wish the range/services were as extensive though!).

Funny you mention that because once i switched to consuming 100-150g intra carbs and then (1) large PWO meal with carbs i noticed i was able to stay on the leaner side of my normal flucuations... i haven't really switched the foods i'm using either, so your definitely right about something there. I also get done training at about 8pm if that makes a difference.

Are you getting the intra-workout carbs mainly from shakes(dextrose etc) or solid foods?

It would probably be best to use a high quality carb supplement.
