Glucose is ideal for CBL, but should we be concerned about any potential long-term health effects. Not taking this article as definitive or trying to be alarmist, but it is something to think about. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/04/140404092937.htm

However, muscle tissue doesn't get tumors.. And if we're employing CBL correctly, that glucose should almost entirely be going to the muscle cells…

Kiefer recently had a great podcast where they talked about ketones, cancer, and pretty much what this article is talking about. Great listen if you haven't yet. https://soundcloud.com/body-io-fm/the-ketogenic-diet-and-cancer

What many people don't realize is that the amount of carbs and insulin you get from CBL and CNS is much lower than what you get from normal diets.  The USDA recommends 300 g of carbs per day.  On CNS you would need to consume 1900 g of carbs on your CN and 30 g of carbs on ULC days to equal that.On CBL you would have to be backloading nearly every day to get that amount.Even other diets designed to be lower in carbs still have you consuming more carbs than CBL and CNS.
