RazamatazKeymasterSo I've done a couple of backloads now, and I'm still getting things figured out. One of the things I'm adjusting is how much and when I eat so that I can actually sleep after my backload. I'm wondering, since you're supposed to use high GI foods so insulin levels rise and fall quickly, should I be going to bed if I still have a full stomach? It seems if still digesting my carbs when I go to bed it would screw up the nightime growth hormone release.I woke up in the middle of the night last night with the most intense stomach pains. I had tons of gas, which helped aleviate the pain, but it was still pretty painful. I don't know if anyone else has expirenced this.

McLeod2012MemberI'm pretty positive Keifer said it was okay to eat right before bed as long as it is high glycemic because even if you do go to sleep after you eat your insulin levels will only rise for about an hour and then GH will be released. Also, I've gone to sleep on a full stomach as well and it didn't bother me much. However, I have my backload meal, which is larger, then have a smaller meal before bed that still has carbs and protein and maybe a little fat. Usually it's two pop tarts and a shake. Haha.

If you just finished the prep phase this is pretty normal. When i go no carbs for longer than a week and then reintroduce carbs (even in small amounts) i always get liquid poop (sounds funnier than it is) and my room turns into a gas station 😉 After 3-4 days you should be okay.By the way, i usually stop eating about 3-4 hours before bed (I fast a little longer than recommended, works for me) and sometimes im still full as hell and i can feel my stomach digesting at bed time. But thats only after huge backloads, 500g and more carbs (even if all high glycemic)

Tanner FoxParticipantAgreed with the others, it will get better with time. I have found that 1 or 2 betaine HCL capsules really help with the food level is that high and I have digestion issues.Â
