Can anyone recommend a single unified source of material regarding lifting? I'm talking about something that will cover ALL the foundational material. A book, a website, movie...I'm recently getting into lifting and I would love to find a piece like this.Things like:All the terms that get tossed around. Hypertrophy, sarcoplasmic, pre-work out nutrition, post workout nutrition, bulking vs. cutting, supplements, how to do certain lifts, what lifts to do for certain muscle work, anatomy of muscles, what does "5/3/1 2 top lifts @ xx lbs" mean?, discussing different lifting programs for different goals, etc. etc...I like reading forums and listening to podcasts, but I wish I had a single (or even two or three solid pieces) source of information to lay a good foundation for an education in this stuff. That way I can spend my time on forums/blogs fine-tuning my own strategy rather than scraping around trying to piece together all the basics...Thanks in advance!bluprint
I highly rate Robert Kennedy's "Huge & Freaky Muscle Mass and Strength Secrets: Build a Body Fortress Naturally":http://www.amazon.com/Huge-Freaky-Muscle-Strength-Secrets/dp/1552100839The late Robert Kennedy was a bodybuilder, and also the publisher of the popular rags MuscleMag, Reps!, and others. This book covers EVERYTHING (from diet, to supps, to exercise, etc.), with tons of routines and specializations. It focuses on doing it "naturally", i.e., no gear. Doesn't matter if you are into size, strength or power, or you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced lifter. This book is fantastic, and one of my go-to's. I probably open it more than any other fitness book or magazine I own.Cannot recommend it enough!Cory
