systemfMemberSince his thread is for hair health (dandruff=poor hair health). I have found a good remedy for dandruff, having personally battled with it for practically all my life. Put CO in hair(any kind refined, non, virgin etc) and let sit for 15-30 mins. Using a fine-toothed comb try to run through until you are satisfied(30-60 secs). Massage scalp using anti-dandruff shampoo, let it sit for 5mins and rinse. Try 1-2 times a week. It might be a pain but worth it. Hope someone will find it useful.

Cory McCarthyMemberCory, this is hilarious. I just keep reading eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs . . . apparently they have a lot of stuff for hair in them!
Eggs have a lot of stuff for EVERYTHING in them. They are a superfood. 🙂Cory

TokyoLifterMemberCool . . . Studies? 😉
Mmm, don't recall any, but coconut oil blocks DHT in the scalp so the hair will not fall out in case of MPB. Massage it in, and keep it there for an hour, then wash it out.

Brandon D ChristParticipantSo, I have this theory 😉 If I can achieve noticeable differences in the quality of my skin, hair and nails, I believe this will also be reflected in the health of my bones, ligaments and lean body mass. I'm also just fed up of my hair being frizzy. So I'm planning to alter my diet with this goal in mind. Please chime in if you are interested or have any info. I will post my findings/research here. Obviously, the results will take a few years to be noticeable!!
No, you're right. Diet, supps and exercise... if done right... will improve all-around health and appearance. Healthy outer appearance is usually a good sign of healthy workings inside.Healthy fats, especially, are incredibly good for skin and hair. Keeping up with your minerals will help with bone strength, as will heavy lifting / resistance training (it builds bone density, not just lean muscle). As for connective tissues, I use Glucosamine/MSM, as well as Cissus Quadrangularis (which I turned fellow member Arrr1 onto, here on DH forums). Vitamin C also helps. You need to protect your joints, esp. if you're active, and esp. as you age.Cory
Cory you should post a picture of all your supplements haha.

LOL. I'd have to open all of those cabinets, and take a long-range shot. LOL! ;DI'd still probably need a couple shots, maybe even three, to get it all in.Cory

FairyGuestCory, my skin looks great!I don't know if it's the diet (organic meat + butter, no dairy, no gluten), or the vitamin E I'm applying, but I think soon I won't feel the need to wear makeup to work.

I prefer a natural girl anyhow, so you wouldn't find me protesting that. LOL. 😉As for what's doing it... I'd say all of the above. A healthy diet, rich in fat, will certainly aid in hair and skin health. Furthermore, application of quality Vitamin E will take care of any immediate external issues. You could also use shea butter, cocoa butter, etc.True health starts on the inside, but it doesn't hurt to give the outside a little immediate attention (since it faces the elements directly). 🙂Cory

FairyGuestI had an Epsom salt bath yesterday, and soaked my hair in it before washing it and rinsing with the shower. I thought it would be really dry today, but it's not! It's super soft and shiny! Strangely, it also looks darker and straighter than usual. I will be doing this again 🙂 (Note, we have really hard water in London, so that could be it.)

FairyGuestYep, wasn't just my imagination, my mum just commented on it too 🙂

Cory McCarthyMemberWell, you are taking more baths (specifically Epsom), and if this is a newfound thing, it most very likely is related.Epsom salts DO soothe, clarify, moisturize and smooth out my skin. That isn't even the reason I take them, but it is a nice side-effect. LOL. 😉Cory

LumberJackedMemberIf it helps any, I've noticed a direct linear equation in how awesome my beard is to how awesome I look.
