Richard SchmittModeratorJust wanted to give a quick update and genuinely thank you ibob.My max bench went from 225 for 1 (depending on the day if i even get it at all) to today where I did 225 for 4. 185 is now a work weight for me whereas before I could get it for 5-7 depending on the day.I can now squat 275 for 5 whereas before I was just a little over 225 (maybe 235) for 5. My lower body strength grows a lot faster than my upper body strength. My heavy deadlifts have gone up in reps. I could deadlift 315 for 3 or 4. Now I can do that for 5-7. I haven't tried a max on that yet though. I appreciate it and I think I'm going to do this for another month. Do another check on my maxes. Then switch back to a hypertrophy routine. Just wanted to give an update and say thanks again. I really appreciate it.As an aside - what subforum should I post about trying to do a "cut"? I feel like CN and Shockwave won't quite get what I'm looking for.
Why do you think that? SW and CNS is honestly one of the better programs that work really well together. You did SW HD with CBL correct?

gumbarooMemberThat's right Big Tex. I did SW HD with CBL. Then I did ibob's plan and CBL to increase my max weights.I read somewhere that Kiefer said he came up with SW and CBL as the bare minimum workout to keep muscle and lose fat. I was just wondering if I could ratchet up the lifting intensity while on CBL to get leaner faster and build a bit of muscle or at least maintain the strength. Also, I've read CBL many times and used it. But I'm wondering what the "cleanest" way to do Carb Nite would be? Just enough Dextrose powder or rice to get a good glycogen store and stay away from the fatty things like ice cream, cookies, french fries, etc.?That's what I mean.My goal is to maintain the size (and maybe grow a tiny bit) and get down to 8% bf. Any help or suggested reading would be GREATLY appreciated. You guys have been awesome and help me out a lot already!

Richard SchmittModeratorThe cleanest way would to stray away from the low GI type carbs, having some junk carbs wouldn't hurt as I'm sure you'll crave some, the CN itself can help lean toward the 8% goal, with rice or potatoes or just glucose, however the main concern I would look at first is the weekly ULC days. Eating plenty of fat with moderate protein will get you the results wanted.

gumbarooMemberThanks Big Tex. What about lifting? Is SW enough on volume?

With CNS is pretty much perfect.
