bbogie31313KeymasterI'm new to the forum, and to CBL in general. I'm hoping to find some help and support from the rest of the members in my CBL journey.A little about myselfI'm a 27 yr old male, 5' 10", approx. 175 lbs. Not sure what my BF % is, but a Weight Watchers scale says around 20%. I'm not sure I believe that, and am planning on grabbing some calipers soon. I've been doing 5x5 and 3x5 powerlifting style strength training for the past few years... until recently! I'm a new father to a baby boy! Everything is going great, he's six months old already, and growing more every day! Up until he was born, I was lifting heavy, eating heavy, and gaining tons of strength. Now, I'm a few months back into my old routine, gaining strength back, but would like to keep the fat off this time. This brings me to CBL and this lovely forum!I do have the book, and have been back loading for roughly 2 weeks now. After reading through the e-book a few times, I just want to make sure I'm doing things right.1) I'm a cook in a corporate cafe Monday through Friday. I'm on my feet rushing around all day so I know I burn some more calories that the average office worker, which can sometimes leave me a little worn out by the end of my shift. I try to have a small meal of protein and veggies with a cup of coffee about 1 1/2 hrs before working out. I train heavy at 2:45pm every M W and F. So far, I've been back loading on Sunday night, and then M W F after my workouts. Should I continue with this schedule, back loading on S M W F and ULC on T TH and Sat?2) The book has a chart that recommends roughly 600g of carbs on back loads. Should I be shooting for this? So far, the past few weeks I've averaged around 400g of carbs on my heaviest back loading nights. I have noticed a bit of fat reduction, but not much budging on the scale. This leads me to believe it's working but I want to be doing it correctly if I'm going to do it. 😀3) I've mainly been back loading with white rice, cereal, sweet potatoes, cookies, doughnuts, ice cream, and milk. These are all working great but rice is super filling and it makes it hard to get in enough carbs before going to bed. Any other suggestions for carb dense foods? Thanks for any advice that anyone has! I'm excited to finally try out participating in a forum with other people to support me. I've always been a lurker on these things, and would like to change that this time around 🙂

Richard SchmittModerator1) Keep doing that.2) It's the max amount your glycogen stores could possibly store. You don't have to eat that much.3) Dextrose can help. And welcome!
