HiI am 42, 6'4", and 308 lb.  I was a pretty good powerlifter in my youth, but  a back injury ended my career there.  Since then I have pretty much driven a desk, with occasional bouts of training (usually something weird/different).  Tried a Keto diet about 10 years ago and did well on it, but missed carbs too much so I didn't really go on with it.  Started Intermittent Fasting a couple of years back, with a focus on the Intermittent bit.  Usually I would go 18hr, with one day a week the 24 and one 0.  Did well on that but seemed to plateau, around this weight after starting at 341.  So I basically still do the same fasting but rarely go 24, especially since I have developed a taste for bulletproof coffee.I got the CNS book a while back, read it and put it aside.  Then it started popping up on the sites I read so I have had a crack, and am due my third Carb Nite in a couple of days.  Haven't really lost anything as the start of the week always starts with 308.Started doing some exercise this week so we will see what happens this week.Daily intake is something like:140g - Fat<25g - Carb60g - Protein2000 calAnyway, thought I would pop in and sift through all the post and work out why I'm not having any super gains/losses.

Actually, you listed 1500 calories. You may be under eating, though you can handle a larger deficit because of your current body fat levels. But I would actually increase your protein, and try to get at least 2000, if not even up to 2500 calories a day.You may need to take a few weeks to slowly raise your caloric level though.

+1 on what Trevor said, definitely sounds like you're under eating.  What's your current BF%?

Scales (which are dearer ones for what it is worth) say about 50-55%. I have seen a couple of mentions of under eating being a problem, but haven't seen anything about why.  Coments on this would be interesting. Also body measurements (tape) aren't down, but I kind of feel leaner, might be placebo.

Metabolic adaptation.Your metabolic rate can begin to down regulate while on low calories. The higher Body fat you have, the lower you can go, but 1500 calories is still super low. Plus it leaves you no where to go if you need to adjust calories down to pass a stall.

Looks like the tracker I was using was a bit sub par.  I have been having a play with MyFitnessPal and my numbers are more like:165g - Fat110g - Protein11g - Carb (after 26g Dietary Fibre)for 2077calso that looks a bit better to me - hoping to not get a slap for that comment 🙂
