Get rid of the protein shakes... your meals should also have a 1:1 ratio of fat grams and protein grams. That being said the turkey pepp and cheese is a better idea. Also remember carbs aren't supposed to be eaten directly but rather obtained inadvertently. Cheese for example has 2g carbs in a 1/4 cup so make sure u are NEVER above 30g..... 40g is not the recommended amount

Have you done the prep phase? Own the book? Looked through the forums on what foods are ok and not? Male? Female? Height weight body fat?Meal 1) Should be at or around the 12 hour mark from your last meal the night before. Coffee with coconut oil and maybe heavy whipping creamMeal 2) Great idea. Keep meals at 1:1 in grams for fat and protein. Meal 3) Protein? As in shake? Unless its a PWO Shake not a good idea. You should cut this out. Meal 4) This is ok but you're better off sticking to about 2-3 good sized meals during the day. Meal 5) PWO Shake?Meal 6) No wrap...cut it out or don't use a lot. Just occasionally. Remember 1:1 in grams for fats and proteins. Meal 7) Cut the shake out. So rule of thumb here is to stick to 1:1 for fats and proteins in grams for each meal. Not daily intake. Good fat sources are butter, ghee, coconut oil, and animal fats. Plants fats are semi-ok but not ideally. They get stored in the body as actual fat and cause inflammation in the gut. Straight protein, like whey, spikes insulin which stops all fat burning for the day. Eat .8-1g per body weight of protein and match that with fat. That's pretty much a good place to start.

randyoGuestThanks for the advice! Im doing the initial 10 day phase now.Im 25years old, 6ft 235lbs, and 20% bfIs it recommended i get a protein shake in post workout? I dont know if i can get in enough protein with just food? I dont want to lose muscle mass.

Richard SchmittModeratorFat helps preserve muscle mass/tissue. Even though that's not what the majority of this world believes. PWO Shake is a good idea. Whey, Leucine, and Creatine is really all you need.

Ah...I'll have to look at what they contain but normally coffee is the best bet to have ULC and Pre-training. Ace-Potassium is a culprit to stalling fat loss, however it's up in the air if this chemical cause insulin spikes/stalling.

I still use pre workout supps but I make sure they contain no carbs. A lot of them do and a lot of them don't. 8)

randyoGuestThanks for the info guys, i appreciate it! One last question...is it ok to use artificial sweeteners, like crystal lite, and stevia?

Eric ShawMemberThanks for the info guys, i appreciate it! One last question...is it ok to use artificial sweeteners, like crystal lite, and stevia?
I use liquid stevia alcohol free extract drops, because i found out the stevia packets I was using have maltodextrin in them which could be an insulin spike. I've found from talking to other members to stay away from as much of the sweetners as you can tolerate. I really only use the stevia drops in my coffee.

I think splenda is advised, and stevia is used by some.

I wouldn't use peanut butter that much, it can be inflammatory as discussed a while back. After you make the switch to eating carbs on your carb nite you should try and keep the levels of fat minimal somewhat, until your last meal(s). I am not sure why you would eat 2 tbsp of peanut butter at the end of the night... you should be annihilating carbs instead

randyoGuestthis diet i posted is for carb nite, not carb back – loading.

samuel r walkerParticipantTake it easy on the pb, once a day and only a few times a week.. I always recommend chicken to be eaten with butter and franks red hot, adjust the amount of butter according to how much chicken youre consuming
