BSRJIRONMANKeymasterHello everyone, newbie here. I've been lifting (seriously) for about 5 years now. I was doing the typical BB diet/training regimen, and gained some serious size. My starting weight was 161 (unknown bf%), and I am currently 204 (~10%bf), @5'8". It started as a way to get active, as I'm in an office Mon.-Fri. 8am-5pm. But as with any project I take interest in, I researched it to death, spent every waking minute poring over the most reputable and relevant information regarding my ever evolving goals, all of which are rooted in man's insatiable desire to gain muscle...duh.Anyway, years went by, progress fluctuated, but I've remained fairly consistent. One thing that always stole my joy however, is cardio. I HATE CARDIO. "Dude, everyone hates cardio..." Well...I hate it more. And, of course the other is my out-of-control sweet tooth. I had to stick to a very strict list of grocery items, and staying home alone on the weekends, in order to accomplish my physique goals. Which, for an introverted person, came easily enough I guess. Bulk season, cut season, 6-8 mealtimes, cardio, low GI carbs (if any), hitting macro req's...Typical "dedicated" BB'ing enthusiast (Depressed, friend-less loser). I can't remember where I heard about CBL, but it was about 3 months ago. I was so desperate in my desire to eat cookies and doughnuts, and enjoy a social gathering (food included), that I latched right on to Kiefer's coat-tails. I bought the book, and read it in 4 hours, then read it again....and again. I still reference it frequently. Everything just fit right in. I had a basic understanding of insulin release and the processes that CBL harnesses, so the science was easy to understand. The training window, resistance training style, strict timing, etc... It all seemed like any easy adjustment to make.I jumped right in. Starting the next day, I followed the format. My training session that day was probably the best one I'd ever had, albeit due to the anticipation of the meal scheduled that evening 🙂 Long story short, my body started to re-comp immediately, I woke each morning feeling SOLID, and I was generally happier than I had been in years. I was eating "normal", and looking way better than I ever had. I quickly began to overdo it, however. I was at one point, eating an entire half gallon of ice cream per night! (I'm telling you....sweet tooth) I gained a little fluff, but a LOT of strength. I have since dialed it back (after doing a proper prep-phase) to one carb meal after the gym, along with a lot of other refinements with information found on DH (leucine effects/benefits, sweetener info., carb staging, adjusted macros, etc.), and things are going good. I'm now aiming for less bf, so I'm going to cut down the carb days to ~2 per week (5 training days/week). Anyway, that's the gist. I will likely be picking other's brains regarding detailed aspects of CBL and Shockwave (oh yeah, I'm on that as of recently as well). So thanks in advance everyone!-Brandon
