Hello everyone, I've been doing strict keto for a bout a year now.  Lost about 30 lbs.  I started doing a HIT workout routine (the one called the Big 5 in the body by science book) once a week and I think I could use the carbs to my advantage to maximize my exercises efforts.I'm a male 35 6" 190lbs, I still have some body fat to lose (about 10-15 lbs). I want to build musclesI do an HIT (to momentary muscle failure) once a week only, but that's by design, you need a full week to recuperateI was wondering if I do Carb Nite:When should it be, a day or two before my WO, the day after my WO ?If I do CBL for a once a week training, does that become CarbNite?I know CBL is designed more for people training 3-4 days a week.  How could I adapt it for once a week training?I have read CBL, I just purchased CN and will read it through soon. Thanks in advance for your help!!Pascal

CBL will not work for that style, but HIT is perfect for carb nite. I would have your carb nite the day before you train.I work at a HIT facility and Carb nite is our base diet we suggest so I have lots of experience with combining these. Also, I still suggest people get out and do some walking or cycling, just light movement for at least 30 minutes or so 4-7 days a week.

I'm on CNS and doing HIT, and I agree 100% with Trevor.I tried working out in the late afternoon just before carb nite, but I much prefer the afternoon/evening of the day following carb nite, as there are still ample glycogen reserves to fuel the muscles without feeling so drained.

I do a triple combo of every day on CNSI got the tip of a HIIT cycle from scopes75, which is.. 50 secs slow pace.. 10 secs 100% output.. and repeat for 6 cycles with a 2 mins cool down. That's my warm up.Then heavy resistance training.Followed by 20 min walk at the end.The point of this is to release fatty acids into the blood stream through HIIT and weight training.. and the walking is the elimination of those fatty acids. Not sure if the science is down 100% on this info.. but I feel pretty good with what I been doing. After my carb nite, for the next 2 days, I do a HIIT cycle of 4 mins 30 secs slow pace.. 30 seconds 100% output.. (6-8 cycles for day after carb nite.. and 4-6 cycles for the second day after carb nite).. followed by 20 mins walking on both days.

Just as a heads up, HIT and HIIT are different.HIIT is High intensity interval training.HIT is High Intensity Training, though it would be better described as HIRT High Intensity Resistance Training.

So are you saying what he does on the bike isn't HIIT??

It is HIIT, it isn't HIT.

Correct. This thread was made talking and asking about HIT, not HIIT
