I just tried to do HIIT before heavy squats.Do. Not. Recommend.

Oh dear - hope you are okay?Would working a high-intensity resistance session to failure give the same benefits as HIIT? This could be possible on compound exercises where a machine is involved, such as seated rows, or where I have a willing and able spotter (Fairy, you're up!). Safety first people

Yep this is an option.  I am not on Carb Nite, but if I were I would do a really intense workout the next day instead of HIIT.  Kiefer said Heavy Duty for CBL is a good option for this.  Put that glycogen to good use, don't waste it on HIIT.

Funny, today I was thinking about a new topic to discuss what is more beneficial after a CN: HIIT or heavy weight train?Maybe we can get some other opinions on that.

HIIT is a more efficient way to clear glycogen, however if you are like me and you hate cardio, but love lifting, a high intensity weight workout would be my choice.

I totally agree with the HIIT argument but wouldn't it be best to build as much muscles as possible for fat burning purposes on CN? Like use the day after CN for a heavy work out and the second day after it for HIIT to get rid of the last pieces of glycogen?

Personally, I love doing some HIIT when my glycogen stores are full. It's not a waste 'cus I want to be fast at sprinting/swimming 🙂
