seeing as though i've thrown up a few posts here and there w/o introducing myself i guess it's high time i did one of these…i'm steve, 25, live in aus, been working out for a few years now. got into it as a means of rehab and got hooked. made my beginner's gains in mid 2010 and feel like i've been spinning my wheels since then - tried to put on some weight but just went from skinny to seriously skinny-fat. over the last couple months i've been leaning down (~18-20% BF at the moment) and slowly getting stronger. was keen to get started on CBL, but from reading the forums i think starting with CNS until my BF is in the low teens is the right idea. will transition to backloading after my heaviest sessions (twice a week), then to full CBL once i've got a handle on my love handles. i'm not in any rush so i may as well do it right. i've done well maintaining weight & increasing strength on the anabolic diet previously this year, so i know i can function pretty well on steak & eggs & cruciferous veggies, without worrying about energy for lifting and studying.thanks for the great community you've got herestever

thanks guys! will start up a log in a couple weeks when I get started – will sync it up with finally taking a deload on 5/3/1 (on my third cycle at the moment).I take it many of the tweaks from CBL should be adopted to CNS, and will be doing the following:

    • no breakfast (no drama; have only been a fan of it when I was working construction)
    • 10grams wpi/ coconut oil/ coffee in the morning & before training
    • throw extra fat in with eggs to limit insulin spike
    • avoid whey outside of post-workout to similarly avoid insulin spike

should I be shooting for 1:1 grams of fat:protein for my mass or my lean mass? a rough calculation puts my intake around 2500 kcals* if I'm using my overall mass, which seems a decent start point.*yes, I have read the discussion/argument/internet explosion on this point
