I'm in the camp of trying it both ways and seeing what works best for you. If you find that after 2 weeks w/ no Sunday BL, that your Monday training you feel like crap, I'd add something small in Sunday evening. If you feel fine on your Monday workout without a backload Sunday, run with it.Also being said, if you find that you begin stalling on your Monday workouts, you could try adding in a Sunday backload to help give you the boost you need to push through a weight/rep/whatever plateau.

If the purpose of a backload is to refill glycogen stores for the next workout, then why not backload on Sunday prior to Monday's workout, and skip the backload on Thursday, since you will not train again until Monday.  But training time also comes into play, so from my understanding what I wrote would be more optimal for A.M. training.

If your having 4 Days of Training, followed by three days of rest. I would say try out a very high glycemic BL close to bed on the last rest day. Thats if you find that your First Day of training is lagging without it. After three days ULC you could be on either boat. Really needing the carbs, or feeling just fine.
