I have a body weight of 220. The macro nutrient guide in the back of the book suggests a protein intake of approximately 150g, and a fat intake of 40g. I'm a strongman competitor with no interest in fat loss, just strength gains. Great progress so far, but I want to make sure I'm getting the most out of it. Should I go by the book, or the 1:1 ratio? It's a substantial difference.
You'll notice that the book's fat intake is a minimum. Start with 1:1 and see how it goes. The idea is that you need a fuel substrate w/o carbs and fat must be high enough for you to have energy and to prevent muscle catabolism. Esp since youre a strongman, you need to hit 1:1 for sure.
