Can't get much better than that! The ingredient from diet soda's that is detremental is Ace K (Acesulfame potassium).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acesulfame_potassiumRB

Diet sodas seem to be person to person. If you aren't losing and you drink them, then stop. I'm still losing and I usually drink one a day.

Diet Cole doesn't have AceK. Not sure if there are others that don't or not. Diet Pepsi does have it.

I went to the grocery store last weekend and looked at Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, Diet 7-Up, Diet Sprite, Diet Gingerale, and even the store brand Diet soda. All had Ace K. I was getting tired of just drinking water all the time so I was looking for a change and was out of luck. Might be Canada only, but that's what I saw at the store myself.RB

one more question.  the menus in the book give portion sizes for the proteins.  do i still need to limit meals to one serving or can i eat as much as i want as long as there is no carbs?  i love peanut butter.  i found one with 2 gms of carbs per serving.  can i have this a couple times a day with celery?

Yes you can. Nut butters can cause a stall in some people. I eat a tablespoon a day or so. Remember to keep it under 10 carbs per meal.

About the Soda, why drink them and “see” if they make you stall or not. When you could just avoid them and avoid the possibility? Just throwing it out there.

I have a diet soda every now and then and it doesn't hurt my progress. Everyone is different.

Indeed, I'm just saying that if you can go without it you might as well. That way there is no issue and if you see a stall or lack in progress you have one less thing to consider.

Because people enjoy drinking it?  If you can find out you can handle it, that's one less thing you have to sacrifice.

I do think it's something that should be eliminated.  I do love diet soda (or pop where I am from), but it is completely unnecessary.  I don't really think artificial sweeteners are rather benign, but it's just a waste of money.  You could use that money to upgrade your meats and eggs.
