Powergirl36MemberHey everyone…So I've been doing the Prep Phase, nausea and all, for 3 days now, and have been good... up until today.Today I broke my Prep Phase, on purpose. Here's why...I got my body fat % checked at the gym today officially, and it was A LOT lower than I suspected. It's 9 let me repeat, 9%. Thats below essential body fat for a woman. And it occurred to me that this light headedness, peakedness, weakness, and everything else, scale not going down, everything, is my body clinging on the every bit of fat thats left on me. Also, at the gym today, I couldn't even do 30 lbs with a dumbbell chest press, which is NOT the norm for me. Before this I could do 35 easily. And I almost fell asleep at the wheel both on the way to the gym and coming home... And I've been eating 2500 cals which is a lot considering my size.I need to add to this that I have very severe Celiacs, and I only absorb about 1/3 of what I eat. Oh and also, my body can't absorb much fat either (thats why I was on a low fat high carb high protein diet before)... Thus that explains why I've had some muscle wasting. I've brought my weight up from 78 to 112, but still, my bodyfat is still dangerously low, so I can't afford to lose any, and trying to make it to next Thursday with no carbs in keto would do a huge disservice to my body and my fitness and everything I've built up so far.I know all of you have been telling me to do the 10 days but in the end, I need to do whats best for me, so I'm starting my back load tonight, and I've already started with my whey shake and some whipped cream. I plan on having Reeses PB Cups, 1/2 gallon of PB Cup ice cream, 2 boxes of chocolate covered bananas, more whipped cream and hot Reeses fudge. I've also switched my goals from Strength Accumulator to Density Bulker, as I need to get serious about putting on some muscle...I would love to have you all support me even in my decision to not finish the 10 days, but even if you don't, I'm loving being apart of this community and I know that this will be a good thing for me. Thanks everyone...

Richard SchmittModeratorOh no one here will bash you for listening to your body. Do what's best for you and you'll have support. I have Ulcerative Colitis so I completely understand.

Marty P KochParticipantGreat job already in getting up to your current weight. You are, as the others have said, absolutely THE expert on what your body needs, so no one here will second-guess you. This is about the most supportive forum community I've seen, and I've been at this awhile.9% for a female is just about stage ready, anyway.Keep plugging away on this alternate fork in the road and I'm sure we'll be hearing great success stories from you real soon.

Powergirl36MemberIn your opinion, is 9% unhealthy for a female?

Maintaining that composition is probably unhealthy. What you would step on stage with is NOT what you would want all the time.

Worrying about a number is unhealthy. Use other markers to determine whether you are healthy at whatever weight you end up at. Can you perform like you want/expect? Do you have the energy for day to day activities? What are your moods/emotions like? How does your body "feel"? etcetera.

Powergirl36MemberYeah… Thats what I was thinking…Someday I would like to step on stage, but thats after I put on some muscle. Right now, I just want to be healthy and stronger and look stronger too... Most of all, I want to enjoy my favorite foods, and life, and this is such a great way to do it. I'm still dealing with the keto sickness, but that first squirt of whipped cream into my mouth on the car ride hope (lol I was desperate) was 100% pure heaven. 🙂

Powergirl36MemberI'm also not trying very hard to maintain 9%… In fact, I think being at 11-12% would be much sexier to men. Thus, why I'm doing Density Bulker. Lol.
