breenhouseMemberI'm only 21 so I supposedly could do this sort of thing. But if you're in the gym 6 or 7 times a week, as a natural, you're bullshitting. If you're training properly with high intensity, you shouldn't need to be in there 6-7 times a week.

I think this depends on both your goals and training style. For the most part, I train 1 movement pattern a day in multiple intensity zones and working on specific weakness in a given lift. Plus a lot of the lifting I do is explosive in nature with a a focus on minimizing the eccentric portion.

breenhouseMemberI probably shouldn't have been so blunt. I guess I'm a minimalist and my philosophy involves reaping the greatest reward for the least time involved. When i'm in the gym, I make it count.

most people go to the gym for maybe an hour.. if you are going for several hours in a single day you may have a point but 5-6 hours an entire weak pretty much anyone can easily recover from no matter how high your intensity is. Most people aren't squatting heavy or doing very heavy deadlifting every single day so you usually are doing other exercises and giving those ones a couple days rest. 5-6 full intensity workouts at an hour or so a piece is not that much even if the magazines and online articles may say otherwise...

youngmrcleanGuestMy body type isn't the normal. Im skinny fat AKA Hardgainer. I have some of the ectomorph qualities, but am worse at the other ones. we lose muscle faster then any other body type. When we try to cut we lose muscle, but for some reason retain a lot of fat…Even when trying to bulk we gain more fat than muscle…Either way im pretty much screwed when it comes to ever being lean. when you look at me I look skinny, but when the shirt comes off im fat. About 2 1/2 to 3 years ago I was actually pretty big muscular wise. Every time id try to cut id lose a lot of my gains…then id get depressed and try to bulk up again….then cut again to no results…A month ago I heard about this carb backloading….been doing it for a little over 3 weeks now..ive lost some weight, but I think ive lost more muscle then fat and ive been eating my weight in protein…but I was doing the strength accumulation…It was suggested on here that I should do the DB. Ive come to the point that I know im never going to be happy with my body. Id rather look big, then look skinny fat. So I think im just gonna try to get big and hopefully not gain too much fat, but with my body type I probably will

Tell that to Olympic weightlifters, who train twice a day, and upwards of 6 days a week. Trevor is exactly right. It's dependent on your goals and training style. But also on your recovery abilities (both your genetic/epigenetic ability, and external qualifiers like work/school/sleep). If you can train more, and still recover, you're going to make more gains. Period.

This is because up until now you've tried traditional "Cutting" and "Bulking"This time, BULK-CBL DB then CUT CBL-SA or CNYou wont have that problem. Remember no matter what your goals are, nothing is going to happen over night, or by next month, or maybe even next year depending on what your long term goals are. Set step-by-step (reasonable) short term goals, to meet long term ones. Be patient, persistent, and stay determined. Results will follow my friend trust me. This is coming from a 22 year old, who only 3 years ago weighed 285lbs. I weight 165 now, and theres still stubborn fat on my lower abdomen. And i hydrostatic test sub 10%. Thanks to this program its cutting off. Patients, and persistence is all it takes.

Dang..congrats on your results. Im 24 and I started lifting when I was 21. Im definitely going to do the DB for a while. Then some time next year swtich to the SA. Thx for your words of encouragement too. I used to be pretty patient, but ive gotten pretty impatient the past year or so

CBachelor17MemberThanks, and your welcome. Just stick to it man. I wish i would have found this program earlier, while loosing the last 40lbs I lost a lot of muscle&strength. This program allows you to build up without a lot of fat gain, and cut down with no muscle loss. So your in the right place, you just have to implement it and stick to it. I know the mirror is in your face everyday, as it is mine, but make every day count toward changing it and know that thats all you can do.

youngmrcleanGuestwhat would you recommend for carbs? Ive read the book and Kiefer says keep it trashy..i did the whole trashy stint with cookies, ice cream, pizza….and I just got bloated and fat…I recently switched to white rice which seems to work..but could I eat whole-grain cereals like kellogs too?

if they bloat you cut them out.. some people handle dairy/wheat just fine others it causes issues(like myself).. seems like for you it causes issues i'd stick with the rice and maybe some potatos
