Robert Van DykeParticipantIt's me!Just bought the CBL book and have been force feeding myself knowledge on both CBL and CNS to learn what I need to get started!Ready to get going now. I am 6' tall at around 236 pounds currently. I had previously followed a Paleo diet with regularity which has brought my down to my current 236 from 254 in the last 6 weeks or so. Ironically I had been subconsciously having a refeed once a week when I would go out on the weekends (sounds a lot like CNS huh...). My progress stalled quite rapidly when I decided I would "buckle down and go 100% ketogenic." It was around then I found this wonderful world of athlete.io and the books.Anyways, I think I'm in the ~23-28% body fat range so I will be following a CNS protocol with 2-4 workouts a week. I am going to stick to a mostly healthy slant on the carb nites considering I am still a large believer in food quality. That being said some ice cream is likely to find its way into the on occasion 🙂A little background about myself for the curious: I was always a thicker built child, never fat looking back now but always had to get the "husky" jeans instead of "regulars" when I was growing up. I think little things like that are what has caused me to always be quite conscious about my weight etc... Played football (O-line) in high school which is what got me both started in weight lifting as well as bulking me up. Yo-yoed with my weight in high school between 180-225 pounds. Actually got down to 190 pounds again before I left for college to study Chemical Engineering (Texas A&M University, gig 'em ags). Got down to ~12% body fat freshman year before discovering alcohol and the college scene... Continued to gain weight for the next 2 years before being diagnosed with type 3B testicular cancer (embyronal carcinoma if the geeks are more curious). Surgery and 3 months of Chemo later and I was cancer free! (Got all my hair back too) Problem was I had sat on my ass even more and had ballooned up to 240+ and have continued to go up slowly over time. I believe the biggest I got was 275ish but I don't have any pictures of myself at that size.Blah, blah, blah! I'm tired of typing and I doubt anyone read all of that. Moving on, I want to take control of my life and my body and my food cravings (and get just dead sexy looking, duh). I have done this for short durations before but never long enough to make life altering improvements, until now!So yeah, all that to I guess say, "Here I am!"Pictures below of my at around 253 for a starting reference point! Pretty disgusting but hey, I need to see the reality so why be ashamed of it.Last thing I swear: I want a fucking awesome back. Always been a trouble thing for me!Any suggestions, encouragement, or whatever are greatly appreciated. Let's do this! 🙂

Syn3rgyUKMemberWelcome to the boards 😀 I'm looking forward to your progress 🙂 Remember, "healthy" carbs does not mean wholemeal pasta here, but I'm sure you knew that 🙂

MaleraMember1. Congrats on beating cancer!2. Your picture is not "pretty disgusting". It's a starting point, and it's what you'll look back at when you're all ripped and sporting a hugely muscular back, to see how far you have come 🙂3. Welcome and good luck DarkKnight/Batman/Bruce! 😉 ;D

And as to the carbage, already have my sticky rice, white potatoes, and maybe some powdered donuts loaded and ready for CN #1!
