RussiBGuestYeah I'm really trying to quit drinking soda as there are more reasons than just weight loss to not drink diet soda. I like green tea, so I can give that a shot. It's just so easy when you're thristy and want something with taste to run into the gas station and grab a soda instead of tea. I just need to train myself that drinks are fuel and nothing more and water is the best fuel.
Definitely - I NEVER drank full fat coke and now I allow myself to have one can of whatever I fancy on my carb nite as my own personal treat - normally the sugary the better! 🙂Stick with it, it does get easier and the cravings will subside.

Richard SchmittModeratorIt's kind of expensive but consider in Sans or Zevia? I buy a 2x6packs and they last me for months

ODieselGuestWell I think if I ease into it I can do it. I've found quitting anything cold turkey does not work for me. So I'll stop buying it for the house, then stop ordering it when out, then slowly I just won't be drinking it anymore. Man this thread is going on a lot longer than I wanted it to, but thanks everyone for answering my questions! People at work are commenting that I look a lot better already. I've noticed my stomach isn't as hard or bloated as it normally is. My only problem is that I read that article that said CNS works too well and causes you to lose weight rapidly. My biggest fear has always been losing a bunch of weight and having the dreaded loose skin around my belly. I'd just as soon stay fat rather than deal with that. Anyone have this problem?

RussiBGuestI cant say I have suffered from it but it is a concern for many and I genuinely hope it doesn't affect me. If you are lifting weights you can pack yourself out a bit that way or your body may well adapt, it is different for every body I think. There are a lot worse things than loose skin though mate - like heart disease, high risk of cancer, diabetes etc. I try to take some precautionary measures - Bio-Oil and Baby Oil are both good post-shower and have helped me with some other skin ailments. Vitamin E is good and always try to exfoliate so your skin can regenerate regularly.

I buy club soda by the litre from Wal-Mart. Pour it over ice with a squeeze of lemon and you're done. I drink it straight from the bottle when I want some fizz.

Sveta1017MemberOk sorry for being stupid, but that just confused me. .5g/1g of fat/protein per pound of bodyweight a meal? That doesn't seem possible. Or did I misread what you said? Oh jesus. I just read up on the content of broccoli. It has a lot of carbs (am i supposed to do the whole subtract fiber from carbs thing? I always look at straight carbs) and I have eaten some broccoli with every meal over the last week. I hope I didn't screw myself over and have to restart my prep phase. I really don't want to restart the prep phase. Haha.
I didn't see anyone answer this...yes, subtract fiber from carb count to get usable carbs! 🙂
