ecirpanadKeymasterSo, is it normal then to not lose any weight or inches in the prep phase? Trying not to get discouraged here. I'm on day nine.

Lasse ElsbakParticipantMight be a red flag. Could you list your food on a normal day?

ecirpanadGuestI'm eating a lot of bacon, eggs, beef and cheese, a few nuts, pork rinds. I've been reading a lot here on the forum and I feel like I'm doing things right. My first couple of days were too close for comfort on the carbs, and therefore I've stayed under 15g. each day since. My husband and I have been walking up a hill almost every day and I do get my heart rate up. He said it is fine as long as it's under half an hour, but now I'm wondering. He also just told me, after reading my post, that to him I am looking different. Sometimes I suspect the same, but the scale and measuring tape aren't cooperating. Perhaps I'm rebuilding in different ways.My weight is 147. My protein has been at least 120, if not much higher. My fat has been the same, but after more reading, I've let it soar as it will, way above protein.

IronFreakShowGuestSounds like you’re on point with what you’re eating maybe (unless you didn't list it) get some more fibrous veggies in there, keep your digestion and BM's regular. Use fish oil and I even use a probiotic. If you staying under 15 usable carbs a day that’s ok, stay a lot tighter on your fat to protein ratio though, that could be your fault point. Like the guys said, its possible for you not to lose much weight, my fiancé went through the prep phase (5-6″ roughly 140lbs. i think) and only dropped 1.5lbs. Are you fasting in the mornings at all, could you provide how you are eating these foods, timing can be somewhat important as well.

I'm sure he means looking different in a good way. Maybe the upcoming Carb Nite is something you might need and after a few days you'll drop some weight? have you looked into doing the Detox Diet 2.0 after this Carb Nite?

CaseyDMemberJust for reference, listing the foods you eat in a general statement gives us no insight on an actual day of food for you. Break it down by meal and time (not that timing is particularly important, but it gives us context) and portions – ie not some beef, but 4 oz steak, two strips bacon, etc.I'm willing to bet we'll be able to pick something out if you try a more specific rundown...

Damon AmatoParticipantJust to give you some perspective, when I initially lost 6.5% bf, my waist went from 38″ to……38″.

KapriceMemberOP is my wife and to my eyes, her body is improving.I made a spreadsheet for us to track our foods, but we reuse it every day. That's why she couldn't give more specifics. I'm working on an app that tracks history and will make it easier for us to post daily logs. Also, I suspect part or a lot of the reason for less progress by her is that she's been essentially low carb for months. The only carbs she's eaten (other than an occasional day off) have been clean veggie carbs. I'd expect there to be a more dramatic difference for people who are coming to CNS from months of a high, unhealthy carb diet.Just a guess, though.

I think that's all there is to it really. She probably was not holding much water in the first place, hence no difference on the scale. Same thing happened to my mom and she is always amazed how unstable my own weight is.

Yes, I've been trying to include veggies. Before this diet I ate a ton of them, as hubby mentioned above. I was answered on another thread that as long as my protein is enough, my fats can go way above my protein number, so I stopped worrying about keeping them level. And yes, I'm fasting for the full 14 hours almost every day.I have yet to get on a regular eating schedule. That seems to be the hardest of all. Thanks so much for your response.

Can't even wait for tomorrow night!! Is pizza a bad choice for the first meal? Should I eat rice or something else first? Maybe California rolls? yumI have not heard of the Detox Diet 2.0.All I know about doing after tomorrow's carb nite is to go back to low carbs and do HIIT.THANK YOU! You guys are awesome.
