Hello There! πŸ™‚I work out bout 56Pm in the afternoon, so this would fit perfectly in CarBackLoading , during the morning (Breakfast- mid morning-lunch) could I have Cottage Cheese?I'm asking this since from many articles I've read , it seems that the "fresh" product derived from Milk (as cottage cheese, Whey protein , Yogurt and milk too) are despite their Low Glycemic index strongly Insulinogenic..so this would mess up the whole strategy...U have any advice on it? Have I to worry about veggies carbs like raw fennels, and tomatoes in the morning? Many Thanks!MaX

Personally, no. I would just opt for eggs and bacon.

Like Tex said, there's better options, but it wouldn't be terrible.

Are you eating them by itself? As long as you keep carbs below 30g you're fine, but if added with scrambled eggs then they're perfectly fine.

eggs and bacon is the best bet.Β  cottage cheese is okay too.

This question interests me also because I like cottage cheese, and it is very convenient.During the ULC part of the day, what would be the best way to make a meal out of it.How much of it,and what to go along with it?A nice slice of butter maybe? Is there an issue with cottage cheese where you would really like to keep a limit to it?

Cottage cheese is largely casein and is very slowly digested, there wont be much of an insulin response from it, it's similar to meat. You'd just have to watch the carb count of the brand you eat.

Excellent to know, thanks. We are talking 30g protein to 6g carbs.Easy to work with that.

Great!Mag, whatch out with Butter, it's strongly insulinogenic, kiefer infact refers to it (think it was a podacast with Ben Pakulski) to be added to white rice to obtain a bigger insulin spike! πŸ˜‰

Wow,is that true with butter?I'm talking anΒ  on-the-go 2 minute meal here. What would be a quick fat source with the cottage cheese? Some ideas please.Coconut oil? Bacon fat?Man, Kiefer is really shaking things up quickly.

No it's not, butter is completely fine. It has to do with the combination of meals. BUTTER IS FINE TO HAVE, Do NOT avoid it.

Butter isn't insulinogenic at all. I have no idea where that even came from.It can be added to carbs to increase the total insulin output though.

For a complete dummy like me, how does adding butter to say rice enhance the insulin spike?
