BernadetteKeymasterI became interested in CBL after reading some of Julia Ladewski's posts about her experiences with it. But before I fork over a considerable chunk of dough I have a question…I've read Kiefer's article on breakfast, and I've searched high and low for some insight as to what is recommended in CBL but I don't fully understand the guidelines regarding 'breakfast'.It comes down to this... I feel like crap if I skip breakfast all together (it's nearly impossible), and I feel slightly less like crap if I put off breakfast for a couple hours. One of Julia's posts seems to suggest that a protein and fat breakfast is acceptable on CBL, but that's the only direct reference I've seen. I feel awesome eating a protein and fat breakfast, so if it's allowed I'd like to check out the book. However, if the effectiveness of CBL hinges on putting off breakfast it's not for me. Can anyone help me figure this out? 🙂

sckielyParticipantIt doesn't hinge on any one thing. It is based upon everything being optimum for your goals. A fat/protein breakfast isn't ideal for fat burning but it is the right choice of you want to eat something. My suggestion is to start by pushing it back an hour after you wake then 2 then see if you want to go further to get "optimum" results.CBL is a very forgiving protocol but Kiefer is only ever going to talk about the things he knows work "best" in a book that is dispersed mainstream. However there are plenty of tweaks that can be made to it to suit yourself.Once you get the book there are plenty of meal guides and options to sift through. These will help you build a plan that fits for you. It is not some "one size fits all" program. It has been created to be versatile. It is also on special at moment with a muscle+fitness promo so it is $20 off

Thanks, that's a helpful explanation. I am also interested in hearing more about the promo...

Brandon D ChristParticipantOnce you get used to not having breakfast you will feel fine, possibly even better.

BernadetteGuestThanks everyone! I bought the book yesterday and am looking forward to reading it while on vacation next week. I plan to stick to my usual paleo diet in the meantime, but after I get back, it's on!
