Check this site out: http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/It gives suggested macro levels for ketogenic diets. Just wanted to see what others think. I ended up w/ about the same from there as is suggested .8 F / 1 P and under 30C per day.

Cool! According to these recommendations, and what I've logged on myfitnesspal, I'm not eating enough. I need more fat and protein. I love this diet. Myfitnesspal might explode if I log more fat; it said I was about 50 grams over my limit yesterday... ha

Hah, love it.I plugged in what I'm doing (200pro, 300 carb, 175 fat) and it tells me "You will gain weight."Lies. I've been doing it for 2 months and haven't gained. And I'm trying to gain. Next week I'm upping fats some more. Damn calorie fallacy.

A good read on ketogenic dieting as well. Pretty much lays the groundwork for CNS… But also discusses CKD's and such. http://books.google.com/books?id=JtCZBe-2XVIC&pg=PA116&lpg=PA116&dq=#v=onepage&q&f=false

Looking for some feedback…does the fat suggestion below seem high?  I'm doing Carb Nite and have tried to stay close to a .6 F/ 1 P ratio, but often end up around .8/1.  Thoughts?30/M/6'2" | CW 260 | 22% BF | Moderately active* 2741 kcal Goal, a 20% deficit. (1825 min, 3427 max)* 25g Carbohydrates* 170g Protein (122g min, 174g max)* 218g Fat (117g min, 294g max)----

A Ketogenic diet, had fat as the dominant source. No it's not too high if it is around the recommended bodyweight ratio. You're making your body run on fats rather than carbs and protein should be no less than .8g/BW and up to 1g/BW. It all depends on how your body handles macros as well.

This is written by Lyle McDonald.  While it has a lot of information, his general tone is that ketogenic diets are not any better than calorie restriction.  There may also be some dated info in it.  I have read it.

For CN your probably fine- but you *MIGHT have a hard time getting into ketosis with high protein. Ive been doing a lot of research on it since I went back to CN for a few weeks. It seems that a large amount of people have trouble actually getting into a ketogenic state regardless of fat consumption. It more boils down to overall protein from what I've conjured. But with fats being as high as they are the low carbohydrate aspect of it is going to be good enough to get good results from CN. Keifer also touched on this more recently when talking about people not getting into ketosis until right before their CN. But being low carb all week still yields results.

For CN your probably fine- but you *MIGHT have a hard time getting into ketosis with high protein. Peter Attia and others advise a ceiling of about 130g of protein or much lower down to 70g.Personally, my ketosis is as follows:Morning of weekly Carb Nite: 1.5+Morning after: .2Morning after that: .5I do not believe nutritional ketosis itself is "responsible" for fat loss.  Clearly, eating this way allows the bodies fat to be released for burning as fuel.  Some may not lose much, even in nutritional ketosis, others will, with lighter nutritional ketosis.
