So I had my carb nite on Sunday. As usual the following morning(Monday) I weighed myself and saw I was 1.7 kg more than on the morning of CN. I then decided to do what Kiefer recommended with the whole 1:.5 ratio for the day and see what happens. I did HIIT as per usual. Sprints on a treadmill! My macros for the day was Pro-181 and Fat-97. I know it is not perfect to ratio, but I was not willing to go lower(Kind of hungry). This morning...weighed myself....I lost 2kg. Now I know this is water weight and all, but I have never managed to lose it over one day like this. You could also argue my HIIT session was more intense, but I would like to think it was due to the macro ratio. Now if this is to be the norm from now on, having two CN a week surely wont be a problem. This idea kind of gets me excited, because I seem to be stuck at my current BF(8%) and this might be the solution to our problems in terms of having a CN more often.

Ah, it is all a bit confusing isn't it?Well, something I've noticed as a general rule is that day 5 ULC seems to be the day that all my measurements and weight are lowest. Day 6 ULC they go up again. Totally unexplained, except perhaps by hormones.

Yes, I dont know if you saw th FB thread of late on the DH group? But Kiefer mentions there that the ratio aspect of the diet is subjective and people need to tweak things to suit there needs at the present time.

Sounds like you may have stumbled upon something great. I would keep your macros about the same  (181/97) for another 2-3 weeks- measure the same, do the same amount of HIT at the same intensity.... basically keep everything the same so you can confirm and attribute success to the alteration of your macros and not something else!

I ran a diet with very similar number to what kiefer gave me and it gave me great results. Massive recomp. Strength went up, waist measurement went down, but acutal weight stayed the same until about a week after I had ended the diet. Magic 😀

Yeah I'm never weighing the day/s after a CN again. It's a mind trip, by the 4th day I'm usually where I was before it. I'm also experimenting with changing the ratio - trying to drop the fats which is a little harder than I'd like. Not for any personal reasons but having a tbsp of fish oil once or twice a day makes it challenging to counteract that with protein when I don't want to go over 145 grams. I should know in a week or two how that works out. I was on a 1:1 for a few months. Anyhow - congrats on figuring something out that works for you! Nothing like seeing progress!!

I too am trying this since I listened to the Marci podcast.  So far seems to be working out nicely. Just out of curiousity, do you weigh about 181?
