Ha ha,yes.About 2 weeks after getting CBL and reading the forums,I had to go back and read about the Wendy's chicken guy again to see if it were still in there.Definitely doesn't fit in here.Well,it just seems that whenever the word "podcast" appears, the food selection just got more restrictive and specialized. What I mean is,if Keifer says that vegetable oil is shit,Am I submarining all of the good I am doing by eating something during the day that is prepared with it?  It's a little difficult to assign the degree of importance to the new proclamations.Yeah,I get it,moderation and common sense, right? But I guess it would help to have a blacklist of "must avoids".

I think the people that do the best on CBL are those who read the book and never go on these forums at all.  The paleo people have really, really, fucked a lot of things up.  It's good that a lot of people care about their health, but those people lose sight that this is a performance diet, not a health one.  There is a lot of crossover between the goals, but let's keep everything performance focused.  That is why I never give health advice unless someone asks for it.These forums were much better in this regards when they first started.  Nearly everyone was performance minded.  Now the forums have turned into the Paleo lifters forum.

considering kiefers last several podcasts it seems kiefer is heading that way as well trying to blend healthier eating with performance.. i see no problems in that

Yea you got a point.  I guess I just miss the way things used to be.

Another time, another place, but my view on steroids?Well I guess there has to to be tens of thousands of former bodybuilders and NFL players laid up with liver, kidney and assortments of internal ailments now that they have hit 50 or 60.What....no??

I'm sure steroids contributed to that, but they take other drugs as well.  Also football itself is probably unhealthier than steroids.  It's probably the unhealthiest sport in existence other than combat sports.

    Doctors.....mmm,Ok.

haha yea i wouldn't take their word on any of it.. but I have read articles and stories of many old bodybuilders that are still around today and most of them that are still alive and still thriving ate "healthy" through there lives from what they say.. obviously steroids is a big factor in the health of many athletes though and probably a big contributing factor in some of the health issues

Sorry for the confusing moving of the post,I wanted to stick the quote in there.I clarify my point. There are not tens of thousands of former users laid up with these ailments.Ibob is correct, the ones with ailments are much more likely to be suffering from chronic head truama and other chronic bodily impact injuries.

you know this how? i personally don't know if joe montana has some serious ailments that he has been dealing with for the past twenty years.. all in all though it really doesn't matter much in terms of CBL you can get big and strong eating fast food for all your meals for 40 years if you want(granted you live that long)..  ;Dprofessional athletes are a bad example though as many do have some great genetics to boot

Let's make "Paleo" a bad word. Kinda getting tired of seeing it and reading it. Haha. Just like everyone referring to what is "clean" and "dirty". I can take a "clean" carb and make it "dirty", as well as taking a "dirty" carb making it "clean".

    Muddy potatoes? Soapy pizza?

IMHO, this whole “clean” versus “dirty” carbs is mostly an emotional thing that leads many down the path of poor food choices. A fast metabolizing insulin spiking carbohydrate is what should be considered “clean” and a slow metabolizing insulin barely moves carbohydrate is what should be considered “dirty”.Once a food has been processed by the body and is in its molecular form and doing its job of spiking your insulin your body can't distinguish or care to distinguish if that glucose molecule came from a piece of rice or a doughnut.Saying that there are certainly some franken foods full of transfats and soybean oil etc. that have no place in any healthy diet.

Exactly.  This concept is born from people that don't take the time to understand CBL.
