If the purpose of the PWO meals is to spike insulin as quick and as high as possible before quickly returning to baseline, arent the high fat deserts recommended (like pizza or cheesecake for example) inferior to high carb low fat foods?

really depends on the person.. some people it doesn't seem to make any difference while others seem to do a lot better going the low fat route...

Fat helps with total insulin release in the presence of carbs.  Also the muscles can store fats.

i also think your training really plays a big part…….for me i like to have the “junk” on my leg and back days, i just up my intensity on those days for from reason and i feel like i can get away with pretty much any type of carb……thats my two cents

Fruity Pebbles!  I saw it mentioned elsewhere on the forum and it's become my go-to.  High carb, low fat, spikes the insulin and gets back to base line while you sleep.  Gluten free too!  not really sure how the dairy works though.

I'm going to move back on to CBL in a couple of weeks from 6 months CNS and I'm thinking of concentrating on just clean carbs, rice, potato, dextrose and whey as the last cycle of CBL I did left me with some added size but also some added flab.  😮I've done Rice Krispies with a chocolate style milk, made from a scoop of choc whey, 10g leucene & 2 % milk, always found this to be good as it's quick to make and easy to record the amount in grams.  😀
