Hi – just turned 53. Made a lot of mistakes in my life so far, but had a lot of fun and hopefully learned a thing or two.
I consider myself a reformed distance runner and stress puppy.
Started experimenting with strength training just over a year ago after burning myself out from chronic running, eating too little and stressing too much.
Feeling a lot better now but still a LONG way to go to where I want to be, namely big, strong and healthy.
Still a relatively scrawny 158lbs at just over 6 feet.
My biggest challenges are finding the right level of training – if I push too hard I go backwards – still a sign of burnout? Just barely managing any gains right now. Not training enough? Not eating enough? Constantly experimenting and fine tuning.
Thanks to everyone and especially Kiefer for all the great information and inspiration. I tend to be a loner but I intend to change that now. The group is always stronger than the individual!
Thanks,
Mike
