Just wanted to throw my comment in:  I've been on CNS for two weeks - have had two carb nights (on Saturdays) - and feel like shit until Tuesday!  I'm thinking I am overdoing it with the junk and sugar, but am going to wait it out for another couple of weeks and see where I am.  As much as I enjoy the *junk* going in my mouth, I sure hate the feeling afterward!

Try carb loading with 'cleaner' carbs e.g white / sweet potatoes or white rice (avoid sugars and grains), you should feel much better with this type of loading.

I know I should do that but, if I can be frank, I was looking forward to the 'junk'.  Being a former fattie - and I mean in the obese category - I still have a sweet tooth from hell and like me some junk!  This Saturday, I am going to tone the sugar down and see how I feel the next day(s).  Also considered extending my CN from 7 days to 10 days...but I'll give it more time and see.  I am one impatient chick!!

During the Prep Phase, you want to stick to the ten days and then have your Carb Nite on the tenth day. But every time after that, every 7th day is the ideal mark. I wouldn't go past that. Now for the way to go about having a CN, I would (at first) go the full 6-8 hours. Start with a "clean" low fat carb/protein meal, and again 2 hours later. Then I would say go ahead with the junkier carbs later in the evening, stuff you've been craving and really wanting. Instill some discipline. Then after a couple weeks of this, which will help with controlling food intake, I would try to start the night with what ever you want, like pizza for example. A good way to have those "cleaner" carbs is to bake foods with dextrose instead of table sugar/fructose. And/or have baked sweet potatoes, white rice, white breads, waffles/pancakes are good, along with cereals.

"Instill some discipliine."  You just bottom-lined it for me right there.  With the CNS, I was hoping (read: rationalizing) to not have to have any discipline on CNs and have it be a free-for-all.  I'll give the cleaner carbs a go this Saturday and see how I feel Sunday and Monday.  And I'll keep to 7 days.  It's funny, I can easily control myself on ULC days, but 'allow' me to have some junk and I go overboard!  Sheesh.....

I'm sorry kat I meant no offense or anything. It's just a good way to go about doing a CN or a backload. Once someone learns how to listen to their body and learn a bit of control, they'll start to see better results. I mean if you want to just have fun by all means please do so. I was meaning to help is all.

Dude! I wasn't offended at all!  Listen, lack of discipline got me to the obese stage I was at 2 years ago, so don't feel like you offended.  I am new to this protocol and still learning, so any advice is absorbed and appreciated!

Gotcha, just wanted to make sure I didn't do so. Lmao. That' might be an incentive to keep that control.

Yeah, me too. I can't not finish a packet of something. And I can't keep anything in my house if it's not ULC.
