Hello,Im John Albrecht, a HS math teacher in Indiana, the NAS state chair for Indiana, father of 2 and horrible writer/typer. my background is Business (BS and MBA) as well as an MA in teaching.I have been competing in Strongman as a lightweight competitor since 2005, and have served as the state chair of Indiana since 2008.  I currently operate out of Church of Iron in Indianapolis and, when i have time, maintain my site indianastrongman.com as well as all the FB/twitter garbage! Anyway, Carb back loading brought me here... Im going to try it. i already like the concept.  since i decided to do strongman in 2005, ive gained strength and weight, now weighing 220 (started at 180 - got to 195 thanks to grandmas home cooking, may she rest in heaven).  My goal now is not to lose weight (gain up to 10), but lean out and get stronger/more athletic to make a few more tries toward my LW pro card.  Ive been close...  Not close enough, and have not earned it yet.HERE WE GO!

im also a father of 2 (2.5 and 16 mos).  though i didnt mention it, they are number 1! my goal of being a staple in thier lives, a mentor and role model also drive me.  JACKED and RIPPED are secondary to HEALTHY (in the long run).  Right now…  SWOLE and LEAN are my dream!

Welcome John, I'd like to talk with you about your strongman training cause I'm curious about getting into it. There aren't many gyms around here that do Strongman, although I know a few powerlifters and I do go to a gym that is equipped with most strongman equipment. I'm coming from a crossfit background but my mind now thinks that its cooler to be able to move heavy fucking weight for time instead of doing 75 snatches at 75 pounds as fast as possible haha. But you and I have similar goals, and I hope this forum serves you well.
