So i finished my prep week and had my first backload this past monday after squat day. I lost 5.5lbs during prep (207.9 -> 202.4). The first backload I was able to get in 450g carbs (500g baseline). Slept great, woke up the next morning feeling pretty tight for my size (probably around 20% bf), weighed myself and I had put back on most of the weight (was up to 207.6). Went ULC for the day and woke up today at 205.6. Trying to figure out if this is normal? I am trying to use CBL to recomp and lose some weight. My thoughts are if the same thing happens tonight that happened in the first backload, I'm going to be heavier than my starting weight come tomorrow morning! Any guidance or advice?

you can't track everyday with this type of diet. It doesn't matter daily because food +glycogen + water will spike your weight all over the place. That being said, you should pick a day during the week that constant and compare week to week trends. You'll go less crazy and you'll give enough time for the program to work.

That makes alot more sense. Would it matter whether that day is the day after a backload or if it is a day after an ULC day...or just keep it consistent either way...

Doesn't matter. Just keep it consistent. So if it is the day after a backload, only compare the day after a backload, ect. I don't know your training, but if you had two ULC days in a row, I would measure the Day after the second.EX.You train monday, wednesday, friday, then ULC Sat/sun, You would measure onĀ  monday. The two ULC days will give a chance for the water to work its way out of the system. In my opinion.

On off days what kind of protein/fat numbers do you guys aim for? 1:1 ratio? 1g per lb bw of protein? Also, I've read not to have alot of whey at one time, but then I've read that its not a big deal either if its not in the morning time. Would 44g whey be ok?

Would 44g whey be ok?Depends on if you train or not. Ideally no it would not be ok. Stick to whole foods. If training on an ULC day then it would be ok combined with Leucine and Creatine.

Yeah, I have been reading through a good bit…just have to give it time to figure out what works for me. Started with my baseline carbs and decreased some from there. Woke up this morning after having 400g last night and felt pretty good, although didn't feel or look especially tight. I think I will stick to 400g again tomorrow night…

Try pushing it higher, if you lok better than the night before then try pushing it even higher. If that number doesn't do it for you then go inbetween 400g and what ever number doesn't work. good luck
