pbclax1GuestYeah, I have been reading through a good bit...just have to give it time to figure out what works for me. Started with my baseline carbs and decreased some from there. Woke up this morning after having 400g last night and felt pretty good, although didn't feel or look especially tight. I think I will stick to 400g again tomorrow night...
Try pushing it higher, if you lok better than the night before then try pushing it even higher. If that number doesn't do it for you then go inbetween 400g and what ever number doesn't work. good luck
Thats exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks for the help Tex!

pbclax1Guest447g carbs and the backload is done! Highlight was a homemade chocolate banana milkshake. 4 big scoops vanilla frozen yogurt, one banana, 3 tbsp chocolate nesquik powder. Comes out to ~119g carbs!

Sounds awesome... Over what period of time did you consume the 447g carbs?

pbclax1GuestBackloaded again last night since I trained. Felt pretty good again this morning, nothing noticeable though to me. Low carb today and will weigh tomorrow morning. I think this coming week, I'm going to focus on backloading with mostly 'clean' sources and see how it goes, how I feel and how I look.

pbclax1GuestI've been reading the Jay DeMayo case study because thats exactly what I am attempting to do via CBL. It seems like on off days there is barely any protein, especially only eating one of the optional meals. From what I see theres just over 100g protein on the off days? It seems like that is really low for someone in the 200lb range. Am I missing something?

pbclax1GuestWell, first weigh in after a week of backloading today and my weight is up 1 lb (208.8lbs). That is not the way I expected to go lol. Where should I go from here? Tone down the backloads? Last week I kept it between 400-450g carbs each backload. I think tonight I will look to get 300-350g, is that a good idea? Any help is appreciated, looking to continue to build strength but lose some unwanted weight.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorDon't use fat in the PWO shake. This is a time we want an insulin spike to stop the catabolic process caused from training.

pbclax1GuestIs anyone able to help me with what I should change to hopefully start dropping some weight? From the prep phase my baseline is 500g. This past week I backloaded with 449g monday, 400g wednesday, 400g friday and 450g saturday. I'm not really sure where to go with the amount to backload basing it off these numbers…

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorI don't know if it's been mentioned, but the number you get from the charts if your max.If you are feeling bloated and watery or like you are gaining fat then you should lower your intake and see how that does. How many days are you backloading?
August 13, 2012 at 10:07 pm #71694
pbclax1GuestOk thanks Trevor. I do feel 'soft' in the mornings. I will lower my intake for sure this week and see how it pans out. I am backloading each day I train, so 4x a week backload, 3x a week ULC.
