uptickMemberHello, I have a question about using BCAA's instead of pure Leucine. I purchased a bunch of BCAA powders with 2.5g of Leucine per tablespoon at a very good price, but now I am not sure about using them instead of pure Leucine.Do they both serve a same purpose or is there a fundamental difference.Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorLeucine is the only one that really does anything. If you got it for cheap then that's great, but isoleucine and valine are overkill if you are eating enough protein.

uptickMemberThanks. I got it for cheaper than what I paid for pure Leucine so I got carried away and bought a bunch.

Perfectly fine. I use BCAA's, myself. I can get a better deal, with them, in bulk. I use the bulk powder of USP Labs' Modern BCAAs. The product has a 4:1:1 ratio, in favor of Leucine! That is double the Leucine, per serving, compared to your average BCAA product (or whey). Here is the bulk product... 1 KILO FOR $24.99 + shipping! Beat that, seriously.http://www.nutraplanet.com/product/uspowders/bulk-modern-bcaa-1-kg.html?sel=4297Comes in Grape, Green Apple and Peach. All natural, as are most USP Labs products. Been using it for a while. Tried both Grape and Peach... both are nice, I prefer the Peach flavor. Haven't tried Apple, yet.Cory

Cory McCarthyMemberPardon… I meant 8:1:1 ratio. Again, in favor of Leucine.

uptickMemberThanks. But just to clarify this ,its not the same as USP labs Modern Bcaa, its USpowders bulk modern Bcaa. Good deal nonetheless.

Actually, it is the same product. USP Powders is exclusive to NutraPlanet. They have ALL of the USP Labs primary branded products (well, most of them), like Cissus Rx, etc. in a bulk form -- w/o the fancy packaging, and sometimes w/o all the flavor options, or capping (so... for some products, you'd have to "cap" the raws yourself -- if you cannot choke down the powder).USP Powders is USP Labs, but in bulk.I've used both USP Labs branded Modern BCAAs, and the USP Powders bulk version... both equally good, and I notice no difference in consistency or taste.Cory
