I recently started supplementing with Leucine.  I am taking roughly 5g 3-4 times a day for a few days now.  last night i started feeling itchy and it has continued today.  My question is whether the leucine could be causing this?  Am I taking too much?

Are you taking it with meals that have carbs?

just adding it in my protein powder.  I have been doing CNS so my carb count is way down

Not a huge point in taking leucine unless you're taking in carbs. Especially with multiple ULC meals. An argument can be made for including leucine in your PWO when doing CNS, but that's about it. So I'd cut leucine use back to just your PWO, if that.  A great way to use it would be on your actual Carb Nite. Hit a good, hard, heavy workout to activate the tGLUT, then have a PWO with leucine and carbs. Probably could do some with each Carb Nite meal too for added insulin boost.

Don't take leucine on CNS with two exceptions: 1)On Carb Nite and 2)in your post workout shakes.  Leucine is a great way to spike your insulin.  These same rules apply to protein powders as well; they raise insulin too high.

+1 why would you take leucine on CNS, other than on carb nite or after training ?During CNS and ULC we don't want to spike insulin.
