BostonBullyKeymasterSo I've been doing the 10 g of isolate with 5 g of leucine before each back load meal but the taste is getting to me. I've been able to fight off the urge to gag, but between the leucine and the fact that my isolate is hydrolysed it's creeping in. I did a shake last night where I mixed the leucine in 10 oz of milk and let it sit in the fridge for a half hour to disolve. I then added the 10 g of isolate and the taste was so much better. I know somehow milk turns into fructose or something like that but if I have two shakes a night is 20 oz of milk too much?

Richard SchmittModeratorDrinking a ton of milk will not help, but drinking a glass or two of cow's milk will actually help with insulin spiking.

Cool, I don't drink milk for my back load. I just want to use it to curb the taste of that damn shake.

Why are you doing this? Unless your trying to put on as much mass as possible its unnecessary.

Because the book says too. From the book pg 143: "Don’t forget the hydrolysates. When taken with a mixed meal, hydrolysates increase the insulin response of intact food by up to 50% and can help replenish glycogen stores faster7. Added leucine can drive insulin levels even higher. Add a shake containing about 10 grams of hydrolysate and 5 grams of leucine to each of the carbladen evening meals, in addition to a cut of meat or fish formaximum effect."
Well that wasn't even my point, I meant if it tastes gross. But thanks for the info

nickl413MemberThe sugars in milk are actually all made up of glucose chains. No fructose at all.
