So with resistance training/HIIT/carb backloading, I'm seeing fat loss in the pec/shoulder area, even in the upper abs but I've still got killer love handles. Any suggestions?

Lose more fat. Simple as that. It's likely to be on of the last areas to lose.

Its also related to high cortisol and stress. If you can get your stressors down youll find it easier to lose the love handles. Stress can be diet induced (bad food, fasting, toxins) as well as all the other classic examples of stress. Im battling this too, even at my leanest they were still there which I can only put down to stress! Next time I diet Im probably not going to use daily fasting as a tool to lose the fat.

Add vitamin c and e if you aren't already taking it. I have noticed quite a difference since adding it.

At 8-9% fat i still have those on my back side,Im not stressed and im eating like a king(if kings knew how to eat well), but they still exist and will ever until i go out of the 5% barrier i suppose heheThat does not concern me, nor that sticky lower abs small amount of fattie:/
