Powergirl36MemberHey everyone,I wondered this today. I've just started backloading (had to cut my prep phase short for medical reasons), and I'm a 20 year old female at 9% body fat. I'm doing density bulker, and my question is this: since I have a VERY low body fat %, would that mean I can eat more during my backloads? Seeing as I ate 5000 cals yesterday for my first backload and lost 2 lbs (lol lucky me), I figure I can get away with it. Any thoughts?

Gl;itch.eMemberJust continue to monitor progress. You may have been in deep caloric debt and just needed a boost with the excess calories. You still dont have the amount of muscle mass to necessitate a huge amount of carbs.

Powergirl36MemberToday post workout I was away from home, so I had a muscle milk and 8 starbursts. I'm getting ready to eat a whole GF pizza and a whole box of chocolate covered bananas, followed by some greek yogurt. Sound good? It's about 300g.

300g isnt that much as far as calories go but its still probably on the high end for most women (especially of your size) Just keep an eye on how you are responding the following morning after backloads. Eventually youll get a feel for how much and what foods you can get away with.

Powergirl36MemberI also forgot to mention I only absorb about 1/3 of the cals carbs and fat I eat because of the severity of my Celiacs…

impGuestI thought the general rule of thumb for this entire protocol was to disregard calories?

Keep tabs on carb amounts and how you feel to know if you are going too high/low ect. If you don't at least track the carbs you are taking in, you have no data to improve you strategy.

Powergirl36MemberI see… I will! For now though, I won't be backloading this weekend as I will be traveling! So I'm going big tonight! 🙂 Also, after eating 500g yesterday I lost weight, and woke up feeling great. So I'm not really worried about it at this point in time!

Yeah, that's what I meant. Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I only count carbs, protein, and fat. Can't remember the last time I counted cals.

Haha, no kidding. But really, I woman doing DB is a woman after my heart, haha.If you have trouble eating more during you backload you could try adding in an intra-workout shake, maybe even a pre-workout shake with some carbs.

Powergirl36MemberSweet that would be awesome!!!! I've been a little confused with how to do that… would you pre mix the whey shake with the leucine and stuff ahead and bring it with you? I just am a bit confused as how you would do that. But I'm all for it- gotta get the muscles on and wide grip pull up down. 🙂 Strong for my family, and strong for life!(P.S- I downed a whole pizza tonight and was thinking... "You know, I bet guys like girls that aren't afraid to eat big." :)...)

I'd start with just implementing a intra-workout shake.Have some whey, leucine (Honestly, I might hold off till PWO because this stuff is horrid), and dextrose or some other carb powder and sip it during your workout. You might wait till 15-20 minutes in.I'd still have a PWO shake. Also, about the pizza, 1. I'm jealous, I'm craving pizza but couldn't get to the store for the stuff to make a GF pizza. 2. I love girls that can/will eat big, a girl that can keep up with me is automatically awesome, haha.
