How about cheesecake? Sadly, I could easily eat several pieces of this stuff.  :-[  I wondered about it since the cream cheese and sour cream might lessen the glycemic load?  So confusing.  I appreciate you taking the time to help me sort this out.

Cheese cake is okay and awesome to use. Normally the ingredients within it will help spike insulin and raise the GI index

+1 cheesecake is great. Just eat the types of foods Keifer has laid out and you will be fine.

Thank you, both.  Here's hoping this will shake it up and get me losing.

It will, honestly going ULC is great, but not having the refeed (CN) is what makes this program different. Just remember on your CN don't worry about eating too much in the beginning, worry about eating too little. Then from there you can adjust as needed, if needed. A lot of members go all out weekly and are having great results.

Also take a look at these. http://www.gnc.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=gnc%20green%20womens&origkw=Gnc+green+womens&f=Taxonomy/GNC/13200328&sr=1They are all wonderful products, all will have a whole foods blend, a digestive aid, liver function aid, and much more. I personally use Mens Sport Greens, and recommend this line to everyone I know, including family and friends.

Since I've been under 25gm of carbs since June 24th and under 10gm of carbs most days since giving up vegies back in mid-August, I decided to go ahead and do my first carb nite last night.  I'm not a late night person, so I started my carb nite at 2 p.m. and went until 8 p.m.  I started off with a big piece of lasagna that I make with bechamel (white flour sauce) instead of a ricotta cheese layer so figured that would fit in.  Had 2 pieces of garlic bread with it.  Then about 2 hours later (after I no longer felt like I was gonna barf cuz I was so stuffed), I had a piece of homemade pina colada cheesecake.  An hour later I had another.  Yeah...cheesecake is my kryptonite.  Then the rest of my 6 hour carb note involved a cup of rice pudding and 2 slices of artisan bread with Nutella spread on them. In an interview, Kiefer said it might work better for women to go for the sugary and lower fat than higher fat carby (e.g. pizza).  The lasagna might've been pushing it, but hey, we'll see.  He also suggested not overdoing it on calories.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is a good diet plan for men, but maybe not so good for women.  :- ...but I'll try it for awhile. This morning I am having a carb hangover complete with headache and all I can manage to get down right now is one of my low carb protein drinks, so I'll probably have my BPC about mid morning to get some fat in.Hope I did it right.

Sounds like you did good. What time did you go to bed out of curiosity? Jw because that was a pretty early CN. More like a Carb Mid-Afternoon/Evening hehe  ;D All the same though Keifer has talked about people with altered schedules doing this. As far as this being good for men and not so for women. It takes some slight alterations, mostly because in general women are smaller, and have less muscle mass. Meaning they can store less glycogen, and need fewer calories. I think you did fine on your CN as far as timing/food choices. Seems like you enjoy'd it and kept it simple. Take a look at member logs for CN, there are quite a few women getting excellent results on CN right now. Take a read over there log, and Im sure they would not mind if you chimed in with any questions you might have after doing so..

I'm usually in bed by 9 p.m. (my husband and sons, who are vampires, say I'm a wuss  ;D) and up at around 5 a.m.I'll check some of the logs out and see how other women are doing.  Thanks!Oh and I did not step on the scale this morning (usually do every morning).  😛

GOOD!! The scale is the enemy ESP on the night after CN. The only time(s) it might be beneficial to weigh yourself, is every week or two on the morning of your CN. Sounds like you timed your CN very well based on your schedule!

Haha! I prefer the same schedule as you, also. I prefer the quiet calm of the mornings

Good!Looks like you had a great CN!

Feeling a bit better this afternoon, not so carb loaded.  My plan is (to keep from going insane and stressing) to only weigh myself on Monday mornings as was suggested (the day before CN).  I was worried about whether I'd set myself off on a carb binge (cuz I am soooo a carb addict) by eating carbs, but I happily got back on my ulc today.  Maybe because I know I can do this again in a week…or just because I've finally gotten my head around the fact that I don't do well with carbs as a usual part of my diet.Another question...some people do carb night every 4 days, some once a week and some every 10 days.  I'm flipping between 7 or 10 days.  Is there an advantage or disadvantage to either or just personal preference?

Don't skip CN. You should keep it to every 7 days. The people who generally do better with shorter than every 7 days are lean, and weight train. Although every few weeks it might be good to go 6 days or 8 days. Just to switch the cycle of carbs being on the same day every week.

Cool.  Thank you.  I'm definitely not lean and I don't weight train so maybe I'll try every 7th day as my CN.  Thank you again for being such a big help.  I'll check back in when I do my weigh-in on Monday and when I do my next CN.  🙂
