I have had pretty good results taking in Maltodextrin during my carb nites. It doesnt seem like to gets a ton of vocalizing / promoting around here. For me it is much easier to follow this schedule:

    Time Type Carbs
    0 maltodextrin 50-100g Total
2 Snack or Maltodextrin 100-200g Total
4 Eat big meal (most of my fat intake for the night is here) 300-400g Total
6 Snack or Maltodextrin (maybe icecream here) 350-450g Total

Those are just round numbers. But it s much easier for me to do that and  get 1 major meal and a snack than try and eat 2 or 3 times during an evening. Caveat i have a 4 YO and a 1.5 YO that make it very difficult to plan an entire evening of eating.I just feel that the use of maltodextrin opens up carb nite schedule so much more I would think that more people would use it. (or promote it)What do you think?

TBH I dont think there are any. They seem to be pretty much the same thing? (I am not a bio chem guy though) Here is a detailed thread on it.http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/diet_performance_nutrition_supplements/dextrose_vs_maltodextrin_1From what I got from that was no large difference, either one will cause a large spike quickly.Anyone else have differing thoughts / opinions?I do know that the stuff in the orange container does not mix well:http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/now-foods-carbo-gain-100-complex-carbohydrate-8-lb-powder/n8-1117#.U0fu-vldW3gvs http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/p/cytosport-cytocarb-ii-1-98-lb-powder/cy-1060#.U0fvDvldW3g

Dextrose is a monosaccharide (glucose). Malto is a polysaccharide (a chain of glucoseseses).Basically, malto is similar to a starch. Both work well, as does a mix.
