I fast in the morning. I used to drink 20-24 oz of coffee with two tbsp of MCT and it gave me diarrhea. I switched to two tbsp-ish of coconut oil and now I'm fine. Has anybody had any experience with this? Will switching to gel caps fix that?per Kiefer's new article 10g seems like a lot of capsules to eat first thing in the morning. Any thoughts?

Two tablespoons of MCT oil is a lot.  You are supposed to start out with a teaspoon and work your way up.

Doing the ml to g conversion….even if the math is a little off….that probably IS a lot. thanks!

just read this article. been using primarly coconut oil. he said it's best to ingest 10g upon waking to boost ketone production and then 10-20g pwo. should I start supplementing with a teaspoon in my coffee upon waking? i have read a lot of conflicting things about this and would like some clarification please. Thank you.

Yea this use to happen to me a lot back in the day. Then I spoke with Naomi, and she said to switch to coconut oil, because some of us can’t handle the influx of MCT oil, thus the diarrhea. After switching to coconut oil I am now fully operational, been about 16 months since I switched.

He also recommended it in the PWO shake if you aren't having carbs.

So use a little less. MCT either gets utilized immediately for energy or… well, you got that part already figured out. If you're not absorbing it; you're wasting it.

MCT oil preferably, but coconut oil can work.

If you do CO, word of warning to eat it by the spoonful or find a way to melt/blend it. It'll clump up so best bet is to use MCT Oil with a PWO Shake.

Good to know, I was thinking fat would slow down the whey/leucine insulin spike.  I'll get some MCT eventually for evening PWO shakes, right now I just do CO in a morning coffee or green tea.
