I was wondering can I throw milk into the post workout shake to increase the carbs and the flavor.  Also I was thinking of drinking half a gallon of milk to increase my carbs also. Will this be fine?

You should keep fat out of your pwo shake. Drinking half a gallon of milk is fine.

You could throw any milk regardless of fat content in your PWO and have it anytime during your backload as long as you handle dairy well. Milk is extremely insulinogenic.

since chocolate milk is known to cause a massive insulin output and contains prot/carbs but not too much fat its pretty perfect for the backload imo!

High fructose corn syrup is the same as table sugar.Doesn't matter if chocolate milk contains one or the other. If your goal is to spike insulin then chocolate milk will do that.

A half gallon of chocolate milk is too much, a couple glasses is fine, but a half gallon would be a fructose overload.

hmm…two glasses of chocolate milk is an every backload thing for me and I never considered the fructose.  The local grocery actually sells no sugar added chocolate milk…maybe i'll switch to that and add dextrose.

Plus it might fill you up too much. I tend not to drink much of anything during my backloads for this reason.

Oh yeah…learned that the hard way, liquids+carbs=bloated nasty feeling. For the record, I miss drinking milk. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Yea I miss milk too. Here is a link to some milk symptoms; I still cram down the heavy cream and butter. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/dairy-insulin/#axzz1ypNy9ovq

Stop eating fructose? Not sure what 'fructose overload' means...
