Brandon D ChristParticipantDo CBL for awhile and adjust to that, but keep Carb Nite in your back pocket. Everyone is right though, Carb Nite is the better option. The book says pretty clearly how to use CBL for fat loss. You will need to have smaller backloads. PM me if you need more help.@Everyone else, I don't blame the guy. I personally would not be able to jump right into Carb Nite when I first learned of DH protocols.

MikehrMemberMy point was more that yes CBL will work for fat loss but you can still train hard on Carb Nite and the results will most likely be faster

Cory McCarthyMemberSome good, portable ULC snacks would be:CheeseBeef JerkeyHardboiled eggs…just think of low-carb items, that contain protein and fat.As for Mod-CNS, I’ve run a routine like this before:M: ULC day, lifting in PM.T: ULC day, lifting in PM.W: Back-load @ night (2-4 hours), lifting in PM (weak body parts).T: ULC day, AM cardio.F: ULC day, lifting in PM.S: Standard Carb Nite (6-8 hours) starting @ 4pm, lifting in AM (weak body parts).S: ULC day, AM cardio.…works quite well, so long as you amp up the exercise volume.Cory

Brandon D ChristParticipantI'm not saying you guys did anything wrong, but he made it clear that he wasn't ready to go ULC for days at a time. Just try to work with the guy.

true, true. but he did also say he has a hard time around carbs and cant control himself. i feel like if he CBL'd then there is more of a chance for him to go hog wild multiple times a week...rather than just one day.

MikeScienceGuestI don't have a hard time not eating carbs. It's just that they're the only thing in my house. There are not fats and little protein. That was my point

Are you responsible for purchasing your own groceries (i.e., with a college job)? Or do your parents pay for your intake? When I was in college, I was 100% on my own (by request of my parents). I held a 35-hour-a-week work/study job, went to class as a full-time student, got my homework / studies done outside class hours, got to the gym, etc. I did what I had to do, and made it work.Whatever your case, ensure you have stocked what you need. If all that is around is carbo, either buy (and store) what you need to eat, or ask your parents to do so (depending on your situation). There have been other students on these forums who make it happen. Though, I am sure compromises will need to be made (I made them), if you are financially responsible for your food / other purchases.Cory

rallenGuestlol, have an intervention with the person doing grocery shopping. if you have two jobs, go buy some protein, bacon + eggs + beef + one source of lean protein. you probably have 1-2 of those already in your fridge/freezer so just pick up what else you need.if your tight on money, learn to watch for coupons, i just had 99cent large eggs and lb of bacon in my area, that made for a cheap week.

MikeScienceGuestI can and try to buy my own food, but the problem is when can I cook it? I am only home during the evening hours and that is the same time as when they are making dinner. They dont want me making dinner at the same time as them. P.S. I live with my dad and his gf. She wears the pants and is anti-me so thats why I my situation at home is not as easy as one would like

Do you have any days off? Worse case scenario, zap what you can in a microwave.Use a day off to prepare some meals for the week. Or do it piecemeal. It doesn't take me longer than 5 minutes to cook-up & prepare my dinners, and about that to cook & prepare meals to pack for work the next day.Cook your food before or after them. As for your dad's GF, she is your dad's GF... not yours. You are an adult, and while she is entitled to her opinion(s), they should be allowed to hold zero bearing on you. If they begin intruding on your life, make it clear (but polite) to her that you won't tolerate it.You want it? You will make it happen. 😉Cory
