Sherylea HurstParticipantI am waiting for the new Shockwave to come out so I have no idea what shockwave invovles, however I always thought that after a heavy workout your muscles MUST be sore the next day or at least the day after and this would be an indicator of a good workout, growth? Am I completely off on this?

This is not always true. If your nutrition is on point then you should rarely get sore.

It's true. DOMS is not a sign of a good workout or a bad workout. The one thing I get from DOMS is if all of a sudden a muscle starts getting sore without changing anything I know I'm finally learning to activate it.

RussiBGuestI would agree. Muscle soreness is (in my opinion) more an indication of non-optimal nutrition for either macro or micronutrients. You will find many people on here who lift heavy take supplements such as a good Zinc-Magnesium compound to reduce muscle fatigue and improve recovery.I can't remember the last time I had DOMS - well before I started CNS that's for sure.

Which Zinc-Magnesium product would you recommend? I take a heaping tablespoon of Natural Calm at night...is there one that would dial recovery in even more? (that is in addition to vitamin A, D3, K2, C, Fish Oil, selenium & 85% paleo/CNS)

I have yet to try it but Cory recommended ZMA from NowSports.

You will be just as well off keeping NC and adding a zinc citrate.

+ F*king 1I think a novice/new trainee will or should be sore, as an indicator, until they build up some type of strength and muscle adaptation but again, that's not always the case.

Tiago NicolauParticipantIt really depends on the body of each one, in my case i have my nutrition and supp up and running, and when i change workout plans, i get sore as hell!

I strongly disagree. The best gains I have is from workouts that I get DOMS. It doesn't matter at all how my nutrition was.

stumprrpMemberSame as ibob…I have doms basically all week…bigger backload perhaps? 🙂 Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

Tiago NicolauParticipantWhat about injurie risk?

dgibsonMemberI'm pretty skeptical of DOMs being entirely nutrition related, but what I've read on the ZMA reviews makes me want to try it now. Anything that aids in recovery, reduces soreness and helps you sleep as well sounds worth it to me.
