I've recently started having a little bit of almond butter (1-2tsp) a few days a week, it's lush. I also read this: http://caloriesproper.com/?p=1676 which has changed my viewpoint of almonds somewhat. Not only that but they seem to blunt the glycemic response: http://caloriesproper.com/?p=1749

In reading the first article Im curious as to what benefits you find worthwhile enough to include this in your diet?

    It tastes amazing.  ;D

Pretty much that, yes 😉 seriously, I'm not saying eat 100g of this a day, have it every day, nor that it's a magic bullet. However, it's low enough in carbs (6.5g/100) and polys (14g/100) that a tsp or two certainly won't do any harm. I also believe that gut health is important, so almonds having a bifidogenic effect can only help with that (especially as it's not because of the fibre), not to mention improvement in IBS symptoms which personally I used to suffer from quite badly before starting CBL. Finally, from what the article is saying, a lot of the almond fat passes through the body therefore the monounsaturated fat won't be stored as readily as it would be from other sources.
