samuel r walkerParticipantHaha its kind of like the desire for fruit, which I love.. Ideal, no; will it hurt to have a bit , no.. If youre craving some oats just have them earlier in your backload, youll get a nice spike from the dextrose and syrup and having it earlier shouldnt affect nightime gh production.

Tyler StephensParticipantI'm definitely not one of those people who do what they want to do.The last 4 of so years, I've come to love healthy food. I hate having to deny some foods during my backload, but I do. I basically was just asking the best possible way to incorporate oats into my diet. I'm just looking to eat it maybe 2/3 times a week.I think having it on my first backload meal before a rest day with dextrose might be my best option. Most of my carbs, actually all of my carbs have come with white rice, white/sweet potatoes, rice chex, banana and dextrose so far on my backloads. Actually I did the oats/maple syrup/brown sugar one time.

I dont want to destroy your world and send you on a downward spiral of despair, but ideally remove all the chicken and use red meats instead. Also seriously consider removing all the nuts and nut butters. If you need fats opt for coconut oil, mct oil, butter, cheese, or some other saturated source. Probably not an issue if you replace the chicken for beef/lamb as you should get the fats from those.

JayjayGuestthanks!why no nuts? i eat almonds and brazilian nuts, both under 3g carbs/100g.If i eat chicken i always combine it with fat sources. The 1/2 chicken today was made with coconut oil + i ate lots of the skin for fat. But yeah, i also eat lots of red meat. I simply mix it up.Looking forward to your answer!Greets

Nuts and seeds (and their butters and oils) are mostly PUFAs (Polyunsaturated fatty acids). As are the fats in chicken (even most bacon unfortunately). Polyunsaturated fats are easier to store as body fat, but hard to burn off as your body always goes for its saturated fats (dietary or in adipose tissue) first. Youll find it easier to lose fat if you get rid of your Polyunsaturated fat intake. And youll be healthier in the long run.

JayjayGuestOkay cool, thanks for the info!So less nuts and chicken, more beef, eggs, fish, cheese...?!I will NOT ditch the chicken and nuts, but reduce it for sure. There are also days where i never eat chicken. Yesterday for example looked like that:1. Coffee, heavy cream2. 3 eggs, egg whites, 2 slices bacon3. 300g lean beef, some salad4. 250g salmon, ~200g broccoli5. 400g cottage cheese, 3tbsp. nut buttersShould be better?! Yeah i know, 30g nuts...

JayjayGuestWhat are the best sources for protein & fat therefore?I guess for:Protein: beef, pork (bacon, chops...), fish (how about lean fish?), eggs, cheese, cottage cheeseFats: coconut oil (i cook EVERYTHING in it), fat meat/fish, egg yolks...what else?

Tyler StephensParticipantWhat about Chicken thighs? Are those mostly poly fats as well? How about turkey burgers. I eat the butterball brand and its 10g of fat and 31g of protein. And Salmon?I eat hamburg and steak a lot too just wondering about the other stuff?

JayjayGuestwhy not ideal? because of the 30g of nuts?By the way: Did Kiefer say that thing about nuts and chicken somewhere? Because in the ebook he uses chicken breast, low fat cottage cheese, almond butter etc. everywhere in his meal examples.

Pork and chicken is only as good as the food they are fed. If its corn and grain based (as it usually is) they will have bad fat profiles. Fish is mostly polys. Not good. Beef, Lamb and other ruminant animals (like deer, bison) breakdown their food in multiple stomachs, and have a much better fat profile, even when fed shitty diets like most of the commercially raised animals usually are. Its really the fat thats the main issue. But ideally the protein comes from an animal source. Dairy protein is good.

http://athlete.io/5266/why-vegetable-and-nut-oils-suck/ gives Kiefers spin on the oils and their associated fats. He isnt so hardlined as to say no chicken, but I asked him about it once and he did agree that the fat in chicken wasnt particularly healthy and that you are better off with red meats. Anything more than zero polys is never going to be ideal. But its up to you how you do it. I think for longterm health and bodycomp its better to ditch them. Polyunsaturated fats are slowly (very slowly unfortunately) becoming understood as one of the main factors in obesity.

JayjayGuesti get you man. Thanks for the info, knowledge is always good!I will try to keep the chicken lower and rely more on beef. But since it´s also a money thing (beef is f*cking expensive) i won´t switch to eating that stuff only. I will still eat chicken and nuts, but as i said, if i have the choice i´ll go for beef! I don´t think this will make or break my progress, since things are going really good at that time. And honestly, look at 90% of the bodybuilders diets who do not follow CBL...they pretty much do the opposite and have success too! Sure, CBL is CBL and it´s not the typical BB diet, but those diets have also worked for decades. And as we all know: science is only science as long as we haven´t found out anything new (which will ALWAYS happen). Who knows, in 5 years there will probably be a new trend again.
