Here's a question that maybe people can clear up for me as I am a little confused about “usable carbs.”During the ULC part of the day (for CBL), I understand that I should consume >30g of (usable?) carbs. For example: If a product has 5g of carbs and 2g of fiber, would I consider the net carbs to be 3g?Doe adding fiber affect this?If anyone could shed some light on this that would be terrific!

Thats correct – and as long as the fiber is all fiber then your fine.  And, it may be a mistype but its <30g.

Adding fiber does nothing to the carb count. Fiber is technically a carbohydrate, so it's listed as carb on the box.

For example: If a product has 5g of carbs and 2g of fiber, would I consider the net carbs to be 3g?

Yes! But be careful about the wording "net" carbs. A lot of products subtract sugar alcohols as well, not just fiber. Hence the word usable in the CNS and CBL books (I think).
