Hey everyone. I am new to CNS and the website. I am a 25 year old female interested in losing weight and gaining muscle as proficiently as possible. I have read through the book and am excited to start. I do have a few questions though. If I'm going to do this, I want to optimize the diet to it's fullest potential. First question- is it true that a 1:1 fat to protein ratio is ideal, and you should aim for an intake of 0.8g-1g/lb body weight protein a day? Has anyone found that eating lean protein and supplementing the fat with cheese or oil works better? vs eating meats high in animal fats (ex- salami/pepperoni)? Second question- I weight train 3x/wk pretty vigorously and supplement with 3-4x tabata cardio workouts. Should I be arranging my carbs around my workouts to prevent muscle destruction? I understand about the dangers of endurance training with low carb. I hope tabat (compares to the popular HITT workouts) will not create the same problems that endurance training does. But should I save carbs for after the gym? Is there any information about how much? Do I need to have carbs post weight lifting? Can't wait to get started! Please share any learned tricks of the trade 🙂

You're better off with the animal fats than using cheese or other added oils. Have a whey isolate shake after your strength workouts. Also, try to have your carb night on the same day as a strength workout.
